I used to suffer from sensory overstimulation, but it was successfully treated, and I haven't had it for several years now. Still need to self-manage, but I seem to be out of the danger-zone. The simplified pathology of the condition is explained in the last 20 minutes of this video: https://www.you... |

It is not a form of autism, but a problem which afflicts many autistic people. If you want to find out a little more about some of the cofactors in layman's terms, then watch the last 20 minutes of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cw1dEj6A4ro This is a small tip-of-the-iceberg study, ment... |

One doesn't really outgrow this. I'm 48. I went to a school reunion and felt most comfortable with my classmates' just-left-school children. And it's not like I'm one of those broody women who wants to actually breed children or goes coo-coo about babies, it's just that those kids seem to be interes... |

My crying and screaming during a meltdown have a very destructive, traumatising effect on a relationship. I am seeing a psychologist to try to find out how to channel my actions to do something which doesn't have a harmful effect. But I need an urgent interim solution because I am causing trauma to ... |

Is an aspie tea party (such as the one we had this afternoon as the ASCape group) different from a tea party where there are only average people? Let's see whether the following apply to the latter: 1. You forget to notify the host that you will be late. 2. You forget to aplogise when you arrive 2 h... |

The live online assistant at http://www.especialneeds.com/speech-language-oral-motor-tools-chewy-toys.html told me they DO fit adult wrists too. I'm seriously considering starting a blog or something that's geared towards the 18-80 crowd of autistics, and the things which can help them as adults. Th... |
