That's rough Sly, I know it might be hard to see her like that, but I think you should visit her when you can, nothing hurts more than losing someone before you can tell them what they mean to you.

Maybe organizational psychology too. It doesn't look interpersonal like the rest of psychology, it focuses on the big picture of how people function in a workplace, they don't have to manage anyone. From what I've picked up, it is data-driven, I don't know any organizational psychologists myself so ...

Good learning material will explain what the greek letters actually mean (constant, variable, proportion, formula), there's no question about what pi means, but some of the others can mean different things. You've said that fractions and ratios throw you off, maybe you should single that area out. I...

Better yet, an alexa/echo hybrid with cameras and monitors. The house would keep track of you, your stuff, and give you visual information; it could help you find anything you were looking for because it could see everything in the house. It could also help keep you on task not just because it remin...

A 5s system. In a nutshell, "a place for everything, and everything in its place" It would be nice to have an app that could map out your living space for you, and allow you to enter what you have and where you have it. Maybe even a camera-enhanced take on alexa; which could catalog all yo...

I was a huge sugar fiend as a child, I was in my 20s by the time I really cut down on it. When I was 25 it was weed, then spice, then weed again. I've been a smoker since I was 18. My mom was always deathly afraid of me becoming an alcoholic because her maternal grandfather was one, but that habit a...

Dream1 (2 nights ago) I was about to drive to work, but my brother needed my car, he had to stop two monstrous bears, they were huge, both had two ferocious heads, and were out to kill. My brother shot one and it turned into a regular bear, he then drove off in the car, the other bear chased after h...

I tried home fitness, but it's too cramped and often gets cluttered. I only pay $10 a month for planet fitness, they're open when I'm awake, they have no house clutter, and there is a variety of equipment to choose from. Psychologically, it's easier to exercise at a gym too, I always did way less ex...

Racism and sexism will not be tolerated on this website. If you can't deal with that, then YOU don't belong here, either! I know rules are rules, but a lot of people just react to bad experiences. I just think it's a better idea to let them express that ugliness here where there is a good community...

I'm off to a rocky start, I had more social calls than usual this weekend. It sounds cold and calculating (and probably is), but friends and family really don't encourage self improvement, they just want to hang-out, and I really feel like I'm cheating myself when I spend half the day watching shows...

Hi, In my school, I have to deal with people who are social justice warriors and try to shout me down or falsely accuse me with buzzwords that I'm not when I act kindly in tone and it seems they don't listen to rationality or logic especially with what we encounter outside the college campus. It ju...

My job required a 2 year tech degree and I was lucky to be hired. I don't want to stay in my career though, it's very hazardous and I couldn't support a family with my income (although I can save). I'm not as inclined to tell people to pick a path that matches their interests. I think a better appro...

So if someone claims to have faster data rates, you just apply the theorem to predict how many errors will show up? That's useful to know. edX has Thermodynamics courses (for free), it sounds like the kind of topic that would take a few different courses to really understand. "Always despise th...

Thanks Fnord, that really helps me figure out what to look for. I forgot allaboutcircuits.com, they cover a lot of those topics. First year calculus is just single variable. 2nd year you get to solve engineering problems involving two variable calculus. I'd do that before tackling books like Antenna...
