Interesting thread, Koko. For what it's worth: I am not formally diagnosed with AS (I am in my 40's and wasn't tested as a child), but my AQ is 35-36 and after much long, intense reflection on my life I am quite convinced I am on the spectrum. It all seems to make a lot of sense. Digits 2 & 4 ar...

There's nothing wrong with getting some "down time" and you shouldn't feel guilty about doing so when you need it. It can be really exhausting to get through the day when you're at work or forced to interact with other people all day - especially if you feel like you are "acting" to get through it. ...

One more thing: what's the difference betwsen the "live feed" and the "news feed"?

That confuses the heck out of me too - they usually both look identical. And ditto for the writing on your own wall/status update thingee.....

What is the newsfeed and where is it

It's when you log in and you automatically see updates from the people on your friends list or pages that you are a fan of. If for some reason you don't see it, click on the "Home" button at the top and you should then see it.

Congrats on 10 years of sobriety, Aimless! That's a HUGE accomplishment :) It sounds like a few of the earlier posters most likely nailed it: People either a) Don't know how to respond to the subject, or b) have information overload and may not have even seen your post. It's easy for posts to get "l...

It's done primarly to get the visitor's attention. We've all become accustomed to seeing banners on websites and usually tend to ignore them (also referred to as "banner blindness" in advertising jargon). By placing bizarre pictures on the ads, it makes some people pause to see what the ad is about ...

Although I haven't felt to the extent that you have that a therapist didn't care, I have been frustrated with the amount of "talk" therapy that did little to help me other than to empty my wallet. I have had chronic depression most of my life and nothing helped until I finally went to a psychiatrist...

Hmm... What did you switch to, and what other careers can you end up switching to? In my case it was marketing - search engine marketing to be more specific. My gig involves reporting on stats and rankings on 300+ websites that are run by the company I work for. Another thing I do is handle sending...
