Thanks everyone--it seems that there may be cycles to his destructive behavior, and he will make the most brazen sexual comments to people he is playing online video games with. Since he spends almost all of his time at home and goes to a special "independent study" high school program, I know he ha...

He has always had anger issues and has blown up pretty bad in the past. I just never imagined he was capable of the deliberate theft of money from my account. And he seems to have no remorse. I feel like he is way smarter than I thought he was. It seems like something a sociopath would do, and now I...

Hi, I've posted over the last 2-3 years about my son's problems, but now things are becoming dire. He is almost 17 and was diagnosed with Aspergers in 6th grade. He also has OCD and has been on Celexa for 2 years, with some improvement in symptoms. He acts pretty naive and helpless about some things...

I'm self-diagnosed with AS. I've spent my whole life being attracted to guys who were either unavailable (married) or emotionally distant and didn't really care. I'm now in my 50's and married to a guy who is a narcissist and I am only now realizing how much he has controlled me and my life. He's ve...

Right now, as I'm reading your posts, my 16 year old son is talking up a storm with his "friends" on WoW. He plays often even though he stopped playing for about a year because things went very wrong with his friendships on the game. He starts out OK but after a couple of days on Skype he just loses...

My son just turned 16. He has an Aspergers' diagnosis since he was 12. He's smart in a lot of ways but has trouble with things that I guess would fall into the "life skills" category. Yesterday he spit in my face when I didn't get him a box of tissues from another room. Then only a few minutes later...

Ashley, I'm very concerned about your OCD. Are you taking any meds for it? I am the parent of a 15 year old with AS, ADD and OCD. A year ago his OCD was severe and he could barely do anything all day except take showers, wipe down counters and himself, and he had reached the point where he would bar...

Hi--For the past couple of years I have posted about my teen son, who has an AS diagnosis, and his anxiety and OCD. But what has been a bigger problem in the past year, especially since my son got some help and is doing better, is his dad. For the entire time that I have been married to his dad, I h...

Sounds like typical autistic lack of coordination. My son, who has AS and is pretty high-functioning, still cannot tie his shoes. I wouldn't worry or compare yourself to others. Everyone is different.

I'm worried about my son who is nearly 16. He has an AS diagnosis and takes meds for OCD. But lately he talks out loud to himself--or just blurts out random stuff while sitting at his computer, playing a computer game. Sometimes I listen to him from the next room. In a period of 30 minutes he talks i...

I'm worried about my 15 year old son. He's been diagnosed with AS, ADD and OCD, the OCD starting in the past few months. He takes Concerta for the ADD and Celexa for the OCD. For the past year, he will have several days of a really bad mood, where he is explosively angry, punching walls, cursing me ...

Thank you. I have spent alot of time lately trying to figure out all his problems and trying to help him. I feel a lot of pressure from his teachers and other school personnel. They say things suggesting that I'm not pushing him hard enough, that he is manipulating me, blah, blah, blah. I'm not stup...

OK, computer games are definitely his one special interest. He also gets on the computer because he uses ventrilo to talk to friends who play the games (mostly WoW) with him. They have become his main friends. Listening to him talk to these people, he sounds so smart and self-confident, so different...

Well even if you're not too concerned with being part of the crowd it can make you feel pretty bad when you know most people at your school don't really like you.......and you would like to have friends if you could but know you probably wont. I know that is partially why sometimes I slacked on my ...

Yeah, thanks for the feedback. Some high school psychologists planted the "maybe it's schizophrenia" seed last year when he was tested for an IEP, and now I can't shake it. The school psychologists at his high school are a big pain because they keep questioning his AS diagnosis, as if we're using it ...

I get this crap all the time when I'm talking to my son's high school teachers. During one of his assessments last year one of them actually wrote that they doubted his AS diagnosis because he made eye contact with her during the interview!! ! Then she said something like, he may have AS symptoms bu...
