He sounds like my husband, who was not an Aspie (probably) but a Paranoid Schizophrenic, diagnosed (and probably difficult to diagnose, because he was also a Master's Degree Psychologist). Stress broke him up too, and I divorced him long before things got to the point that they have with yours, beca...

May I ask what "fangirling" is? I can see "fan" and "girl", but I don't get a verb out of those two elements. I could suppose that the mass screaming about the Beatles or Elvis when I was young would be an example, but that was always done among (usually tightly packed) people. I'm on Tumblr where ...

Probably best to censor obvious things like hand-flapping or rocking (unless you're in a rocking chair! ;^)) until you're alone. Oh my god come to think of it I do do that, but only in situations of severe excitement. But I'm almost always alone during those, because it deals with "fangirling" and ...

The smaller things I wouldn't worry about, unless someone tells you it looks disgusting, or you _know_ it looks disgusting to other people, like picking your nose.

Teenage boys should mostly be kept in cages. Maybe their parents could occasionally take them out in public on leashes. I take it you're being facetious? Clearly, since it's not going to happen. (BTW, Mark Twain had a similar opinion). Hyperbole, I suppose. But I wish that there was some way that t...

I WISH!! !! !! !! !! ! I'm constantly angry with myself, and I have a tendancy to lash out when the wrong thing is said to me, or if I am in an environment or situation where I know I can't lash out, I still get angry inside, and the ''bottled anger'' tends to build up until I have an uncontrollabl...

what about PTSD ? To the best of my knowledge, that particular bit of alphabet soup is unrelated, though it might be classified as an anxiety disorder. I am not a Psychologist, but I believe it can happen to anyone who is exposed to some sufficient psychological trauma, for example, being in a war,...

There should be several things thar are skewing this particular statistic. First, I'm sure the rate is a lot lower for LFA than HFA, and I assume this is grouping them together, and it may or may not include Aspergers. Second, I'm pretty sure the median age of the autistic population is fairly low ...

Oh, Wal-Mart especially will hire the truly elderly who really need to earn some money as greeters, and also seriously handicapped. They're usually part-time, which means lower wages and no benefits, but they do give Wal-Mart a great reputation for hiring the handicapped. The greeter in the Wal-Mart...

I was undiagnosed all my working life, and am now on retirement Social Security, so there was no record of disability for me to get around. I had full-time jobs at one thing and another almost all the time, or sometimes part-time when I was also going to school or University, or taking care of my b...

Rather than share it with the whole wide world all at once, why not "practice" a bit with your nearest and dearest, those who understand you, one at a time? That's approximately what I did, and now my own whole wide world knows about it, that is, most everybody who knows my name at all. It'll also r...

Like red hair, it's a purely caucasian gene, yet you see it in biracial (black and white) children. I'm calling you out on that one. Almost every human, regardless of race or descent, has some red color to their hair. The coloring comes from a chemical called pheomelanin, which brings out a pink/re...

Sounds to me like the best thing you can do is ask for that transfer, and if possible, don't let him know that it wasn't a surprise to you when it comes through.
