Am I the only one who would take a cure? I don't believe, hypothetically, that if I were to take a cure I would become normal. Even if I gain the social abilities of an NT, my memories growing up as an aspie will still influence me. I would become something that transcends both aspergers and neuroty...

I don't have a sleep schedule. My bedtime gets later and later every day. One day I go to bed at 9 PM and wake up at 9 AM. Two weeks later I'll go to sleep at 9 AM, and wake up at 9 PM!

It becomes a word once multiple people understand and agree on the meaning. The meaning of a word like Wordsmithmanship is pretty self explanatory, because it's based on a real word from the English language. So I guess it could be a word....

I found that even sexual activity does the trick for a couple of hours. For me, it's a pronounced and obvious difference...and it also motivates me to take better care of my appearance, and increases my awareness of what my body is doing... I felt it was halfway like a cure, actually. They really RE...

I can understand how that would make you feel, though. Generally I tell myself a positive aspect to whatever just happened. Think of it this way: It's an opportunity for you/your gf to buy you a BETTER hoodie. Or I convince myself it's actually funny.... (My old laptop crashed, and the charger start...

I have a lot of trouble. Dealing with other people is like watching a movie, as someone said. I don't really care that much about them or about their concerns, and I can't predict how they will behave. Is that the same as not understanding them?

I know how you feel, and I feel the same way. End this entire incident by forgetting about it, I guess? Drown out the people who dislike you with the people that actually like you. If you said before you'd add the 30 people who would bother talking to you, that means you know 30 people who still wan...

If you do that, what happens to other friends who might still want to talk to you? They won't be able to find you and they might think you hate them too. Forget about one person. Block them out of your mind. Or put them on an "I hate you for eternity list", which is what I did to a former friend who...

I'm unable to really adopt that "No one actually cares" mindset. It just doesn't click no matter how hard I try to assure myself it's true.:( Also, REAL social anxiety causes severe physical reactions. Once a person's body becomes physically affected by stress, it stops being an issue of whether the...

It drives me crazy. But I've seen NT friends do it to other NT friends, and whoever I hang around will usually have some gripe with someone else in the group. This happens in every group I've ever hung out with, whether it was in middle school, high school, or college. And then they'll go back and b...

I usually find people who share my interests online, and speaking with them is enough to prevent me from falling into depression. But I'd be SOL If I suddenly got banned from my favorite sites.

I've read that aspies often respond well to MUCH smaller doses than normal, which also avoids the side effects. This is true, but only to a certian degree. My dosage is tiny and one 0.5 MG pill can last me for at least a week. While I don't immediately faint from fatigue like I would if I took an e...

Wow, I wasn't expecting such gushing thanks. You just made my day. Also I don't believe we're in a constant state of spaciness, it's more like we can only focus on one thing at once, and once we "tangent" into our dream-worlds we can't come back easily. But if I start something important immediately...

True. I thought I would have a great time before I went. It wasn't the social anxiety that wore me down, it was the constant demand of filling a social-butterfly role. A bunch of my different friend circles went, and I was always with someone else. Sometimes even people I didn't know would approach ...
