Definitely happens for me. Usually it involves me researching something on the internet intensely for a week or two and then forgetting all about it. Other times it's an old interest popping up again for a week or - e.g. I go all out and buy painting supplies, paint two pictures and then forget all ...

Don't be surprised or think I'm stupid if I don't get your subtle hint or if I take your sarcastic remark / joke seriously. It's easier for me if you are open and honest. Also, don't tease me in jest, it hurts. On the flip-side, as difficult as it is for me to lie, sometimes it's easier for me to sa...

That's a broad brush you paint with there, Nara44. I am (recently-diagnosed) AS and while my husband is (undiagnosed) OCD he is otherwise neurotypical. We've been living together for 9 years and married for 3 and while of course there is friction sometimes (almost always caused by me) we are very ha...

We communicate with our whole bodies. I was just reading that one of the things customs officers look for is how people hold their handbags/luggage, if they clutch them close to their bodies there's a good chance they're hiding something. Also if you face the customs desk but you're feet are pointi...

I'm the same, I (almost) never lie yet sometimes I can't seem to keep a straight face telling the truth! The only time I fib is if I'm upset with my husband and he asks me what's wrong - then I say "nothing" because I don't know how to tell him what is really wrong, but he knows there is something. ...

I haven't taken one for an AS diagnosis (yet) but the psychologist said that Aspies tend to have much more pronounced peaks and troughs in the different areas of IQ tests than NTs - they tend to be very good at some areas and much worse in others (e.g. I'm much better with numbers than with logic). ...

dustintorch: Nice to virtually meet you! It's great that you are a professional! I had a few years off dancing during the most important time to be training if you want to be a dancer - with that and with my nerves and terrible memory meant I could never be a professional. I'm ok picking up tap and ...

hmm. interesting variety of responses! I was completely obsessed with drawing, sculpting, reading about and playing with models of horses for a number of years (well into my teens) even though we were a middle-class suburban family and I didn't get to see the real thing very often, except from a dis...

Fun topic! My interests/obsessions are: Dance (I either teach it, read out it, watch it, and/or do it every day of the week) and related topics such as anatomy as it relates to dancers European history (though I never remember details) Music (listening, playing it, singing, dancing to it!) I've read in a couple of places that it's stereotypical for girls with Aspergers to be obsessed with horses. I was and I mentioned this to my psychologist and he said is was a dead give away! I was so obsessed with horses I could draw an extremely good likeness from memory (of course I've only ever ...

Had to restrain myself not to buy the full results (I'm a sucker for these things!). Subscale IQ score = 81 Subscale percentile = 10 According to your self-report answers, your emotional intelligence is somewhat poor. People who score like you may at times feel that they have trouble dealing with th...

St John's Wort, Valerian, Skullcap, Vervain, Passionflower and Chamomile (all available as teas) have mild sedative and/or nerve tonic actions, I think Skullcap is the most effective. Peppermint also has some nerve calming properties, that at least is easier to buy. Best to ask a professional naturo...

I've always been a bit of an old-soul in some ways (I usually am more comfortable in the company of people much older than myself, though now I'm getting towards middle-age I don't mind people of my age!), wise beyond my years, interested in history and antiques, etc. But at the same time, sometimes...

Wow, thank you all for the responses. The more I delve into this Aspergers thing, the more I wonder how my parents never picked it up - it's so obvious to me now! I guess the writer of the blog I read about Aspies having bad grammar, spelling and punctuation was somewhat misinformed ;) I'm almost as...
