I have the same problem. For me, it's a mix of poor resource management skills, low self esteem, perfectionism and my being bright enough to get good grades without studying seriously. The perfectionism makes me want to do really well (It's november now, we get our report cards in july - and I decid...

I only can follow conversations when I silently 'echo' the things the other person is saying. If I don't do that everything turns to gibberish (and I think about how you would have to paint the highlight made by the grease on that person's nose or something like that) Unless I am dead tired I can ke...

I think dryad has a point. I probably said (or at least thought) similar things to the kids in my host family when I was too stressed out from trying to coordinate not only one life (my own), but two others I was currently responsible for (the younger kids) plus pay attention to the needs of three o...

I judge my own behaviour using my peer group. Which means, as long are there are none, I can just be myself. As soon as peers appear, I end up to be somebody who sucks at peer-like behaviour.

When I lack sleep, I end up ... dreaming while still awake. I think it's basically my brain crying for some time to empty its cache and process the experiences of the day. The best way to deal with it is to relax and just allow myself to fall asleep. (Typically the contents of those awake-dreams ste...

When you type your answer, ask the same kind of question back. It's not every single question, but, how to say? Every conversation has one main topic at a given point. When somebody brings up a topic in a normal conversation, it is usually not because they only want to know what you think about the ...

There was a cat who comforted me a lot during the worst time in my life. I thought I wouldn't be able to go on without her. She died. I went on. I cried for my mom's sake, even though I didn't feel anything. During the first weeks, I had some major irrational fears. Day by day, they got less. Weeks,...

I've got AS, OCD & ADD (the inattentive type). I felt a bit weird when I 1st came to WP because I thought I was the only one who was not a great specialist in something mathmatical, scientific or computer wizz, as my ADD renders me a professional dreamer with little interest or ability to forma...

1 in 10 children born into wedlock in New Zealand, were seeded by another man... It seems that the numbers are the same all over the globe, regardless of culture and religion ... even in cultures where women are basically shut away after marriage it seems to be the same. That is to say, I do not be...

Passive-aggressive basically means that somebody wants to say 'no' but doesn't dare to, and sabotages the situation. This behavious usually stems from the passive-aggressive person having experienced a number of hurtful situations from which s/he couldn't escape and was powerless to change them dire...

Nope. It doesn't do me any good. Even when I'm tipsy I feel horribly insecure in social situations - I'm just slower and have less mental power left to calculate and interpret and anticipate the other person's words and actions. And I end up feeling down and not being able to sleep while others are ...

I think she was saying that blond hair made her look hot (attractive), and dudes were honking at her hotness. Six just on the way somewhere... sounds like an exaggeration/bragging. You should have left your reply. Then she could explain what she was really trying to say. Well, that would be why it ...

I don't think so. I grew up non-religious and non-spiritual. I can't believe in doctrine and religious lore. They are no more then culture that stems from human's immanent ability to copy complex tasks without truly understanding them, and human's ability to cover up this lack of declarative knowled...
