cooler8625: You don't specify if you want seasonal work during the holidays (which is usually retail and I don't think would be well-suited for you, based on your self-description) or seasonal work in general (which might work for you quite well, depending on a number of factors.) You might try look...

An Autism blogging consortium has been planning it since May. We chose November as the month and I am one of the team of administrators of the project. We are planning to make this an annual event. This is the first year.

2. The basic parenting issues can get in the way: Parents who are dealing with divorce, substance abuse, mental illness, etc., are less- aware of their child's behavior, and if they are aware, they are more likely to brush it aside as a phase or merely nothing to worry about. I fall in this categor...

I know you were asking for responses from parents, but I thought I'd chime in as an autistic kid. I'm 45 years old and was diagnosed with asperger's in 2001 at the age of 34. My mother practiced "tough love" with me, which included pushing me out of her house. The only time I was allowed to return w...

I'm not really sure I know when I knew. I think maybe 4 years old, when I first went to pre-school/kindergarten. I didn't want to play with the other children. I would get angry when they tried to play with me. I spent a lot of time hiding back in the corner under the table, away from everyone and e...

Thanks. Seriously, I mean it. Thank you. prego :) you are tougher than me to be able to survive sans belief in something greater than this hellhole on earth. It's not like I have a choice. I actually actively *tried* to believe. I noticed that many of the political philosophers and fiction authors ...

Not all of them. I know at least one NT who loves deep, full-body pressure and finds it soothing and pleasant.

I haven't noticed. I'll pay more attention next time (I should be grocery shopping in a couple of days since the 1st is coming up) and I'll come back and say.

I doubt that teacher is even still working. Fourth grade was 34 years ago. Miss Puckett is at or approaching retirement age now. she will get her commupance when she meets her maker then. :x - " Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me. That's a really good deal. I'm planning on making a weighted blanket and I priced a 25 pound box of poly pellets at around $130. Try finding a local plastics manufacturer. That's where my friend got it. Poly pellets are the raw materials, so if you can convince them to sell you some, it should be r...

Hi Sparrow, you may want to check out pellets on ebay, I have found some there for 40-60$ including shipping for 20 pounds. I haven't bought any yet but the seller has good feedback so I am confident it would be ok to shop there for this type of item. Hope that helps! Thanks for the tip! I need a b...

I think the show's great, especially since an Aspie, Sheldon, is shown in a positive - if not exaggeratedly humorous - light. That's even though the word Asperger's has never come up. Someone recently, upon learning that he knows someone with Asperger's Syndrome, asked someone I know what I was lik...

Another thing I do often is if I'm loading the washing machine or dishwasher, I'll find myself using only one hand (pretty sure it's the right one in this case). I'm similarly one-sided in acivities like loadning groceries from the cart into the car. You would think I'd have hand inter-coordination...
