It's not been a good day. Many frustrating events. Ran out of "my" foods, very limited funds right now etc etc. I just feel like rocking and scratching my head at this point. I was faxing some stuff and it takes a while so I got in the shower, shortly after that the phone rang and I knew the faxing ...

sometimes I can't handle talking to anyone and I have to arrange my life so that I wont have to talk or look at anyone. It is a pain that I can't do simple things, like go for groceries or the post office, because it involves talking and interacting with people.

So many times parents are blamed. I can't blame my parents they would have done anything. I'm a parent of adult children and I would still do anything to help them. I don't know what the causes are. I do know the brain is plastic and can be changed. I also know it's very difficult to do the work to ...

The hard part of the holidays is all the social stuff. I feel all done with it and just want to be alone with my own thoughts. so far I'm not in shut down or melt down. I don't want to get there but feel obligated. In fact I feel like I'm constantly being pulled to do more than I'm able. I avoid soc...

I like to see my family. Other than that I find it very difficult. Major sensory overload, serious executive function getting everything done for it. It's just a really difficult time with so much hype and a big let down after it's over. Not to mention the unrealistic expectations of it all.

having kids is a life long attachment that comes with joy and sorrow. If you have a child with issues they will likely need support long after they have reached "adult" age. Be prepared for this. There are many appointments and sceduled activities when kids are school age. This was very hard for me ...

I am all about details and rarely think of the big picture. I go through phases of enjoying this and not enjoying this. For me the best part of aspie is getting lost in a special interest. That is when I feel best. I'm an artist and last spring I became mesmerized by tree sillouettes. I did several ...

yes, time passes very fast for me. Often a week has gone by and it seems like only a day has passed for me. People will say they haven't seen me in a very long time and I feel like I just saw them. Things that happened a year ago seem like they just happened a few days ago. I'm 50 now and it seems l...

this is the part of being aspie that I don't like. I have to go out tomorrow for a family thing. I have to be social with people who don't understand me and want to be close to me. I also have to go to the grocery store. I really dread these things. Sometimes I can get my husband to do them for me b...

I am obsessed with my work. I'm an artist and luckily I can make a living with my work. I could go days on end doing little else. I forget showers and food sometimes. I hate to be interupted and avoid going out for other things. I do walk my dogs everyday (that's another special interest I guess), I...

Elementary school wasn't too bad untill sixth grade. At that point kids noticed I was different and started to pick on me. I went to a very small school with only 10 kids in my grade. We lived in a very rural area. Jr High and High school were another story. I went to a large school and it was a nig...

My dad has a few ADHD-like tendencies, but I think that's about it. As far as I know, it's only me and my youngest (of two other) brothers that very likely have it. For some reason as a kid, I only met 6 out of the 10 symptoms, so they didn't diagnose me, but still chose to medicate me with Adderal...
