I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Traits... Not the full disorder because I'm only 16 and it's very very mild to the point where I probably don't really have it, my psychiatrist explains it as trying to put a name to my problems so she gave me that diagnosis to help... I was diagnosed afte...

Well my old psychiatrist said there was no way I had AS, because some teachers from my school told me I needed to be tested for social skills deficits when I failed a class that involved interacting with autistic students, but he ordered psychoeducational testing for me which said that I have NLD wh...

It's not that I don't like my psychiatrist... It's that I don't know her which makes me nervous to talk to her. Plus she diagnosed me with ADHD and BPD in about ten minutes and had me on medicine for it five minutes later so I have no idea if she'd do the same thing this time or the opposite and tak...

I was wondering... What doctors are able to diagnose Asperger's Syndrome? I have an official diagnosis of NLD, ADHD, and BPD from various psychiatrists and psychologists, but my parents and I think AS might fit better because I also have the limited, restricted interests, rocking and hand flapping, ...

I bite my arm, slap/punch my legs, wack my head, and I cut. I'm not proud of any of it. I'm in DBT for it. I want it to stop but I need a little extra help. I know a lot of people that also self harm but they battle depression. I don't think any of my other friends are Aspies.

A few years ago, my grandma told me to go throw the dishes into the sink. I literally threw all of the dirty dishes into the sink and they all shattered and broke everywhere. Last year in my tenth grade health class, a question was asked on my exam that asked for the definition of "Walk in another p...

I'm diagnosed with NLD. Two psychologists said there was a possibility I could have AS with it or instead of it. A psychiatrist said there was no way I had AS. My parents and grandparents don't really believe it either. It gets quite annoying.

It sounds like a good idea, especially if your son likes it. I spend my lunch time in the Resource Room at school. I sit at the front table in front of the teacher's desk. She talks to me sometimes and other times a few of my friends come in to sit with me. I either eat a little or just sit there. I...

I'm not a parent... But... I had a psychoeducational assesment done at a Children's Hospital, and it came back that I have NLD and possible AS that my psychologist is looking further into. I have an IEP at school. One of the teachers made it for me by using my psychoeducational assesment to help him...

I have NLD and possible Asperger's. I've always preffered to be alone even now. I'm sixteen. My parents pushed me. I was in dance classes, baseball, soccer, and Girl Guides. I hated them all. I was always in fights with the other children and I never wanted to go. I didn't understand why I needed to...

I have NVLD. I find it most affects me the Musical Theater program I work in. I am the assistant stage manager and I can't really understand what I am doing unless someone verbally tells me and verbally walks me through it but I am expected to just know. It doesn't work out so well. I am also though...

I only know what my doctor told me and what I experience myself. I know things hurt other people but I often don't understand why, and I have problems with knowing that others think and feel things differently from me. I really think it depends on the person, not just whether it's AS or NVLD.

Is that supposed to mean that they consider NVLD an autistic spectrum disorder or they don't? I'm always confused.

People with NLD aren't supposed to have the deficits in empathy and communication (pragmatics) as seen in AS though (autism has semantics in addition to pragmatics), so the social difficulties are nowhere near as striking and evident. Plus, the restricted range of interests aren't as intense. My do...
