I worked at a summer camp as a junior counselor for three summers, it went well. I was 16, 17, and 18 years old. The kids liked me, and I took direction from adults who supervised me. Curiousity. What will happen tomorrow? There must be some good in this life for me. People do love and care about me, but I expect so much from people sometimes. People can only give so much. I try to get lost in work. That helps, losing myself in what I enjoy so I can forget about how different I am.

These responses were helpful. Thanks so much. Thing with me is, I don't look different at all. I would & should have been a corporate success story. But since I don't always know when and how to ask for help, I can't work well with other adults. I don't always say what I should or I say too much...

My Dad has this thing where he feels that everyone is out to take advantage of him, including me. My Mom doesn't think for herself all the time and goes along with his attitude. I am well-educated but have been under-employed because of the Asperger's. So, while my college friends (I'm 35 now, finis...

I just recently turned 35, and I get lonely a lot. I joined a few book clubs, which is good, and I cook a lot, which I enjoy. I enjoy keeping my apartment neat and clean. I find comfort in the little things, like finding cool shampoo, awesome laundry detergent, or saving money by finding a good book...

I worked in special education for two years and that seemed to be my niche; I enjoyed it so much, I guess because of how non-traditional the teaching was (you can't just stand in front of the class and lecture, etc.). However, I had to leave that position and start a new one, but this is in kinderg...

I started recognizing my workplace issues while working as an editor on my high school newspaper at the age of 16. The other editors were mean to me and I didn't know why. Probably because I was difficult to get along with. School was never a problem for me...I have a BA, a paralegal certificate, an...
