There's a hidden curriculum behind compulsory schooling. The schooling most of the world has today would never have been established if people were given the option of whether or not to attend; that is without compulsory attendance laws none of it would ever have been possible. It was set up by rich...

I will say from experience that Vyvanse is indistinguishable from methamphetamine. Glad I'm not taking it anymore. It's speed, you're going to lose weight. I could probably answer all your question in this area. The verdict is basically this: you can take amphetamine to modify his behavior so that h...

I'd rather use pills than drink, based off my personal experience.

I've felt progressively better about my school situation because I've slowly realized how little the system has to do with education or building applicable skills. In that regard I've felt more like AS has been an innate instinct to reject the veracity or legitimacy of institutions simply because th...

My isolated interest revolves around pharmacology. Not sure if it's any help but I could probably tell you whether there is anything you can change in that department to better yourself, or confirm any assumptions you might have. I've been on a lot of pills before and I've experienced some of those ...

The first thing I would recommend is to watch this video on police encounters from the Flex your Rights foundation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqMjMPlXzdA. In the US the police have the right to stop you and ask you questions to assess the situation; however they cannot detain you longer than 4 ...

I'm bisexual, which has it's positives and negatives. Very few negatives actually because around Portland, Oregon I'm realizing heterosexuals are soon going to be a minority.. I guess it would make sense to make this a sticky but I doubt there are going to be many hookups. I know I know, sounds cyni...

I've tried too many drugs to list and I've never fallen into a cycle of habitual usage of anything. The only things I'm using at the moment is cannabis, caffeine (Mate, coffee, tea), St. John's Wort, Vinpocetine, and Piracetam. Generally the only things worth using. I'm glad that methylphenidate, am...

I have a cat and she's an awesome animal. My mom got her for me when I was in 8th grade and she wanted to see if I would do better because she thought animals helped people with mental issues. It's great to have the animal around because every time I see the cat I give it a back rub. I found this ar...

That's a good point. Accepting that people are going to persistently label these people is probably best. I doubt it would help but it makes me somewhat interested in making a thread with a semi-official list of people that may have been aspies, based off more than a marginal amount of information; ...

When I was 12 my psychiatrist asked me if I heard voices in my head, because she realized within minutes of talking one-on-one that I has AS. The reason they ask these questions is because they are diagnosing you and your behavior based of the DSM-IV criteria which states specifically the symptoms o...

I've definitely been isolated reading and playing games in my room far above what's considered average my entire life. I think it's a great state of being. I wouldn't want to be any different, although my life is far from perfect in almost every regard I think I'm not a problem in much of a way.

I remember reading somewhere that when a Russian scientist described Schizoid personality disorder in 1909 it was actually the first observation of what was really Asperger's Syndrome. Her observations were that it was a personality problem, while Hans Asperger may have observed the same thing but t...
