This is a topic I'd really like to see more input on! This and the other topic floating around right now about topics for small talk. What are effective ways of making friends and keeping them? These are two commonly reported problems that people with AS face. Impairment of the abilities of making f...

I think the answer to such a question, for any person, depends on who there is to fit in with. I don't think the most social of NTs can hope to fit in with everyone, people have differing and opposing mindsets to each other. Those with AS have a significantly different neurology than the vast majori...

I recall a time in high school when I was walking home, and some random woman who apparently worked in a store on that block stopped me to tell me she had seen me walking past plenty of other times, that she had been watching me (!) and she could tell I was on drugs. She kept going on about how she...

Out of sight, somewhat out of mind. There are a few things to understand about this. Firstly, it isn't out of intentional rudeness or lack of care. Secondly, at least in my case, I find it annoying when people try to 'keep in touch' with me (more about this below). I, and I suspect many others here ...

Hey everyone! I've really enjoyed this topic, it's given me some insight into both the behavior of NTs and how they interpret my behavior. I've been thinking about empathy a lot. Recently, it has occurred to me that when NTs are talking about something (especially true of small talk), the conversati...

I used to have both a MySpace profile and a Facebook profile. I got rid of my MySpace when one day I looked at my profile and realized how 'stupid' (my opinion) I was being...having a decorated web page, posting esoteric interests, being vain...when I came to have that understanding, I decided it wa...

Hey, mysassyself! As someone deeply interested in biology, I can tell you that biochemistry is going to be a very important foundation for our understanding of the brain, of pathologies, and of the molecular functionality of life. Biology is a science of structure, and structure is a function of ene...
