I'm sorry. I lost my dad back in 95...he was 50, my mother will be gone 3 years now this Sept...she was 65. I am an only child, no close relatives, and although I have a partner our relationship has some rocky history. I also have a son (15, aspie). Mom and I were very, very close, after she p... |

Apply for SSDI, get a lawyer and be prepared to fight for it if need be. Do NOT feel guilty...the system is there for people that need help, and right now you need help...and all these other people who are telling you what you should do aren't living in your body...remember that. You need time to he... |

This is my favorite fantasy. In it I buy a conversion van and spend my days peacefully camping out and pursuing my hobbies in blissful, quiet solitude. No I would never do it, love them too much. But some days when life gets overwhelming, as it seems to do quite often anymore these days, it po... |

I'd go with the shuffle, search for "ipod shuffle cord" on Amazon or Ebay and you should be able to find what you need. I'd also go with a snap-fit hard case or silicone gel case for it. My 12yr old still has his ipod touch in a hard case he received 2 years ago for Christmas, he's dropped it countl... |

My clothes have to match.
My 12 speed that I load in back matches the color of the truck I haul it with...and I've been guilty of buying coats, shoes, and accessories to match the truck.
Yep, some of us can get carried away with the "matching game" some days. |

Yes, you "could" make her style her hair & dress better so that she could better "fit in". But you could do all those things and there's a very good possibility she still won't "fit in". I tried making myself a carbon-copy of the more popular girls for awhile, trust me, it really didn't go over ... |

"I BELIEVE IN SANTA CLAUS" -- Author Unknown I remember my first Christmas adventure with Grandma. I was just a kid. I remember tearing across town on my bike to visit her on the day my big sister dropped the bomb: "There is no Santa Claus," she jeered. "Even dummies know that!" My Grandma was not ... |

Depends on the child. I'm 44 and still sleep with a light on (fiber optic lamp in my case). I can't fall asleep WITHOUT the light. My son has blue led lights strung on one section of the ceiling, they have different settings, we have them set to very slowly fade on & off in a random sequen... |

Would love to see something like this.
I realize WP already has a parenting forum, but parenting on the spectrum has it's own challenges, and it would be nice to see how others deal with them somedays. |

I spent alot of time in my room, used to run there almost every day after school, then as I got older every day after work. By the time I was done with school I was "full" sensory-wise, I just couldn't deal with any more verbal input. The noise in the lunchroom, the halls, the teachers talking all d... |

Aspergers does not mean "defective", and it's not a death sentence. It doesn't mean you are doomed to an existence of being an outcast either, I've found out there's alot of us around. It doesn't mean you can't live a happy, successful, and fulfilling life. It isn't the result of something someone d... |

I was in my 30's before someone told me. Before that, I just thought I was crazy and tried to adapt. I was relieved in one sense to finally have a name for it and know I wasn't alone. But I was also very angry that someone hadn't picked up on it sooner. I wasted alot of years being way too hard on m... |

I wasn't diagnosed until my 30's, all I can say is that I wish I had KNOWN. I tried so hard for years to "be like everyone else", and wasted alot of time persecuting myself for the failures when I could have been celebrating the triumphs. With the knowledge finally came acceptance...acceptance of my... |

There are a few of them sold on Amazon, haven't tried any of them so I can't recommend, some have good reviews though. Still using the old mortar & pestle myself. Search Pill Crusher or Ultra Pill Crusher (looks fairly good) at Amazon.com or google. http://www.lifesolutionsplus.com/pill-crusher-... |
