Wow, really? I didn't think of that. Thanks very much for telling me. I am sure it is no fun for him.
One good thing is he has been in a good mood all day. So thankfully he hasn't had any tantrums or anything. I came close to one myself though   |

| Thank you for sharing all that. I am sorry it was so hard! And yes, with my son being autistic, he is also non verbal. So the poor guy can't even tell me if something is bothering him. Thanks, yeah I should go over there.
And yes, I think it's partly the reduction in his medicine. The first week he had a couple of major meltdowns, thank God that's not happening now!! |

| Ever since I learned typing in high school, I catch myself typing in my head. Sometimes I do it with my fingers also. I never thought of it as a stim but maybe it is. My youngest son has autism, but I've never been diagnosed with anything. |

| My youngest son is 8 years old and has autism. He's been doing pretty well with the things we've been doing to help him. He is on a gluten free diet and has been on risperidone. I would love to get him off of that completely, we are in process of reducing his dosage gradually. It was too high before... |

Amish Paradise has been going through my mind lately,funny to see it mentioned here.

| Back in the late 70's when I was in high school, I found a latenight radio show, Dr. Demento. He played Weird Al's songs...they had mostly been recorded in his bathroom (for the great acoustics, LOL) I thought he was a riot back then. I still remember the first time I heard him sing Yoda (Lola). :lol: |

| My son flaps sometimes if he is very happy or excited. What he has always done ever since he was a newborn, once he was strong enough...he rolls back and forth when he is lying down. | I never heard of this syndrome, but I get very emotional quite often. Currently I am trying to get off of Paxil, and i know part of my emotional-ness (tha'ts not a word, I know) right now is because of that. But I've always been a pretty intense, sensitive type. Sometimes I've wondered if that's ok.... |

| I am here because my youngest son has autism. He is 7 now. I never realized his repetition of certain words could be a form of a stim! That makes sense. He REALLY repeats stuff, every day. I don't think he does it as much at school. Sometimes you can tell he thinks what he is saying is really funny.... |
