That was a very interesting read, and I have to say I agree with the last paragraph you wrote in particular. No politics in this century can ignore the issues we face environmentally and technologically. Intersectionality as it's currently practised belongs to the late 20th century when it was formu...

What are your thoughts on topics relating to the form that identity politics has taken in the 21st century? I suppose that needs defining first. The best definition I can give is 'intersectionality', which is the concept that systems of oppression overlap in a 'kyriarchy', so those who have a form o...

I'm starting to dive into Jung right now and as far as I can tell with his claim of the archetypes he seems to be making quite a direct case for the sort of Platonic background to the universe that someone like Sir Roger Penrose might make, just that he's validating the ideas from the clinical psyc...

I'm against shaming people, but not against lambasting bad ideas.

Actually, the most centrist position I take is in regards to identity politics. Listening to political squabbles among Americans kills brain cells with both sides throwing petty insults at each other, dismissing any news not aligned with their political ideology as "fake" with no valid ar...

I used to be a Christian, but it caused too much cognitive dissonance. That was only partly related to my sexuality. I still disliked my sexuality for years after losing my faith, but I blame my religious upbringing partly for that internalised homophobia. I used to be fat, btw. I met my love while ...

I know this post is weird. I really feel the chemical imbalance right now because I'm sick. It's like being high on drugs. I know a lot of skeptictards and extreme atheists will judge me and call me a huge aspie because of this post. I don't care. I'm not addicted to this forum anymore. Am I still ...

Yeah, you are. I love socialism; it's great! Seriously, though: no, you're not. LGBT people can be anywhere on the political spectrum. It just seems like they're all left-leaning on the Internet and in activist spaces. I'm very left wing, but I can't stand the authoritarian streak that run...

I'm bisexual, not queer - but here goes: 1. I think I understand men better than most women do, and that helps me in relationships with them. I was scared of men for years (but didn't have much luck with women). Over the years, I've learned to relate to them better, and I think my sexuality helped w...

Totally unconstructive comment, but I'm all for seeing more boobs. I think I would never have another depressive episode if most women walked around topless.

It's a case-by-case thing. The UK should return the Elgin marbles, but there's other stuff in the British Museum that's better off in a stable, democratic country where it can be preserved properly.

Men: wind-up merchants, stocky Women: goths (or near-enough to it), dark hair Both need an ability to make me laugh. What does a wind-up merchant look like? It's a personality trait. A person who stimulates you by playing devil's advocate and saying cheeky things, and generally being a smartarse. I...

Best of luck to you. What a smashing idea! I would be all over this if I wasn't too old for it.

You sound like a clever, creative person.
