I read the original post. If more developments have arisen I've missed them, very sorry. This is all really heavy... I'm not quite sure if I have the life experience to give you a well-informed answer, so please take what I'm about to say with a grain of salt as I am only 22. For some people, "... |

When you say "and also does not trust any voices anymore because he was so sure they were God's voice" - it is probably worth pointing out that hearing voices can be a part of the medical condition schizophrenia. You mention he has mental health issues, so perhaps he has that? I am not su... |

There is some logical inconsistency between him claiming he could control his delusions but writing letters to the church You mentioned that he likes to sing. If he wants, he can go live. He doesn’t need to face others directly but can interact through other people’s texts.Having a fan group can pr... |

Has anyone dealt with delusions of grandeur, particularly religious ones? I need some insight and I am returning here after many years being gone, because maybe you amazing folks can help me somehow. Little background: I am NT (well, that is questionable but we'll leave it there for now lol) but thi... |

Hi there, I haven't posted in yearrrss but I remembered this forum as being super amazing. I am not on the spectrum, but my husband is and several friends are as well. I have a general understanding and respect for those on the spectrum, but I'm really struggling in a new friendship I've acquired. A... |

And as for getting rid of toys, it's not really a problem, should we have to do that. The kids have toys they are attached to, but we wouldn't need to get rid of those toys. The rest of them, the kids would never miss...lol that's just how they are. They are a lot more accepting of change than some ... |

Thanks for the note of caution. I DO want to work with the kids, but right now they have zero structure when it comes to this kind of thing so I want to (very slowly) introduce a little structure here and there. Do I care if toys are everywhere? No...but I want them to have a place to go and over ti... |

One of the kids I work with is 7 and does the same exact thing. It doesn't seem to affect much of anything negatively, although I am going to try to implement some other activities sometime soon. He mainly plays after school before dinner, and then after dinner until bed time or so. I'm working on g... |

We don't have an IKEA nearby :( I'm sad, because I would probably...well, spend my life's savings in there...LOL The kids actually all do read and write, except one I think. There are 7yo twin boys, a 9 year old boy, an 11 year old boy and a 14yo girl. One of the twins is more severe than the other,... |

I'll get right down to it. I am a caretaker for 5 children, all in the same family, who are aged 7-14 and all are somewhere on the spectrum. The parents are very open to new ideas and whatnot and I am great at organizing, so between the three of us (well, really just the mom and me lol) we are hopin... |

Hi all, I know I haven't been here in forever but I have a question for you. Do Aspies have trouble with money management? I am N/T and a fairly good money manager. My husband and I have been married 5 years now. We do pretty well in most things, but in finances, we end up fighting a lot if we talk ... |

I have been married to an Aspie for 3 years. Things that are common: Lots of lone time/quiet time needed Takes a long time to process difficult situations (like relational issues, etc) Can only handle small talks at a time...no long drawn out discussions Everything must be fairly routine...adding or... |

To Aspies and NT's alike... Is there a good way to help an Aspie stay somewhat organized? Hubby owns a computer shop, and it's relatively small but he's super busy so stuff gets piled up. He is very frustrated at times because he can't even walk through to the back, and stuff is so cluttered that he... |
