People have differing beliefs in what a friends should be. You have a person who is an acquaintence, a person who is a social acquaintence and there are people you can be friendly to, but being friendly to somebody doesn't mean you are their friend. Friendly is a courtesy. Friend is somebody who mih...

I think that is the line right there. Sometimes people who forget things say that they are having a Senior moment, somehow refering to Alzheimer's or they will say that they are having a blonde moment or something to that affect. But your right make fun of the trait and not the people. Sometimes som...

Gosh this is hard for me to say because in my day we had this thing called an "Atari 2600" it was like the forrunner to all video games. We were taught that the video game was a priviledge and not a right. I was only allowed to play the video game if my grades in school were good. Most of the time t...

My old man used to tell me the highway to hell is paved with people who had good intentions. How do you know where that fine line is where it borders from joke to insult? How do yu know if a person with Asperger's might find it to be humorous or insulting? You don't. It's crap like this that causes ...

I'm in the Washington DC area. They key thing here is that I work. No Doctor has said my functionality is bad enough to the point...

I'm with you I think that too! The APA needs to stop trying to play GOD because they are not. But I've been saying that alot of it has been a bunch of crap from the start going back to my diagnosis of being schizotypal in 1987 under the DSM-III Version. BTW, who the heck gave them the authority for ...

I do and it's crap. They totally contradict themselves. They all want me to get a better job but without college in the Washington DC market it's virtually impossible.

according to what got said at APA (quoted from Wikipedia) Citing poor interrater reliability, some psychiatrists have totally contested the concept of schizoaffective disorder as a separate entity. The categorical distinction between mood disorders and schizophrenia, known as the Kraepelinian dichot...

Being schizotypal is said to begin in early adulthood. Word has it that the APA/DSM book is going to do away with "Schizoaffective" But yes your symptoms as you describe them sound like they do belong to the Schizotypal and not the Asperger's Syndrome.. If you formally haven't been told that you are...

My therapist referred me to a psychiatrist and within 1 hour that Doctor concluded that I was Schizotypal. To me it came across as being because I'm religious. Her questions focused on things like "Do you feel like God has a calling on your life?" "does God communicate his instructions to you?" "do...

One of the things that really gets me and this really seems to be quite common after reading these posts are the people we call our friends. Some people place a lot of value on friendships and a true friendship should have a lot of value placed on it. Then you got your things like Facebook friends. ...
