I use NoScript, SpyBot, Avast, CCleaner, etc.... I am always open to learning and improving my counter-measures. Thanks in advance. :) Those are all good tools. I'd add MalwareBytes, so if you suspect an infection, you have another scanner you can run. But the basic foundation of what I do is built...

I found at least five tracking cookies and removed them. Think they could be responsible? Tracking cookies aren't great, but by themselves they aren't much to worry about. You can pick up something nasty anywhere (and, as I already said, that may open the door to more) although the two worst places...

Well, Cornflake was obviously right. :) The misleading part (which I'm taking the time to explain in case you need tech support again) was that either you failed to describe the fact there were actual ads which included these words (as described in the link) or that your adblocker was blocking the a...

It sounds to me like it might possibly be some legal / bureaucratic / insurance (I don't know what would apply in your country) garbage. That you are autistic - they've given you a letter stating this. But you are not "diagnosed", so you can't be eligible for assistance, disability, whatever.

Uh, you have another problem... The possibility that her language would sound so much like a slogan a terrorist might shout, and that her gesture for a shrug would be flipping the bird, twice over, is just too much to believe. It's like you created this unbelievable situation just to get her in trou...

If you're getting a blank space with the words "Ads Not By This Site", that is either your adblocker, or some other browser extension, security filter, or what have you, blocking the ads. Presumably, it is telling you they are not hosted on the site. Beyond that, OS, browser, extensions, etc. make f...

Big THX to theWanderer. I also like to write real physical letters. It has been awhile since I've worked with an actual fountain pen, as opposed to more ballpoint pens than I can possibly imagine having pushed beyond their limits. I'd never heard of he Fountain Pen Network before. This is excellent...

Honestly this kid is not good for your son. If I were your son's father, I would absolutely forbid your son from being this kid's friend. This kid is a conniver, manipulator, liar and a thief. Your son does not need this. This kid is a fake friend and a user. Having been in DS' shoes... until he be...

theWanderer, that's pretty much my take on the situation....I'd say almost exactly. I am guessing that N learned the harassing language he used on the girl from some of the kids in his neighborhood who are pretty rough around the edges. We live in a different area, so DS isn't exposed to those kids...

Once you have the parameters available, decide with your son what invitations you will issue. Easiest way to keep an eye out without seeming to interfere is to choose activities either in your home or in locations you feel are well controlled - and at which your son won't need to have his phone. Th...

I've got a suggestion for you, if she likes to write real physical letters... head on over to the Fountain Pen Network. There is a subgroup of people over there who write letters to each other. Of course, she'll no doubt discover the joys of fountain pens, ink, etc. but that's not such a bad thing. ...

Thanks. For some reason, it reads very differently (to me, anyway) from the work of people I read, so I was worried about it being deficient in some important aspect from 'proper' writing. Duly noted on the worldbuilding thing - I was coming up with more details as I went along, and by the end I ha...

Caffeine helps me focus. But you've got to figure out the right dose for yourself, or it will not help at all. The days I drink coffee are some of my best days though - I try not to drink some every day, as I don't want to become habituated to it. I've learned all I could on the science of caffeine ...

That was interesting. As someone who takes writing very seriously, I'd say you want to do some revision - but the story you have would be worth the effort needed to revise it. You might want to indulge in a little worldbuilding before you start the revision, since I think that's the weakest point of...

I can understand why your son wouldn't apologise. He was put on medication which fueled his rages. Did he ask to take that medication? Was it his idea? Unless it was, why should he apologise? It would make much more sense to ask the doctor who put him on it to apologise for the blunder. Oh, and I've...

That sounds like a highly toxic situation to be stuck in. I wish I had a good answer for you, but I don't.
