Ever since I got over the denial period I've noticed more and more signs of Asperger's from my past. My mom would always compare me to Amelia Bedelia when I was little. I remember I thought those books were funny, but I remember the first time I heard it I sometimes thought "isn't that what they ask...

I've noticed if I read or see something whose literal definition would be funny especially if I visualize something funny I sometimes crack up. Slapstick humor is extremely funny. Jackass is one of my favorite TV shows. I love making dead baby jokes. I love nonsense humor, but I often wind up search...

Whether someone is mentally ill or not is relative to their own needs. I think psychiatry should be more patient-oriented. If you feel like you're having a problem and you want to improve on it then I don't see anything wrong with investigating and trying out any number of techniques including drugs...

I think there would be a lot more singing. Has anyone heard of the Neanderthal Hypothesis that Asperger's is influenced by genes that started in the Neanderthals who then hybridized with Cro Magnon? The Neanderthals did not split up talking and singing. It was all controlled by the same parts of the...

I personally know two brothers who both Asperger's Syndrome, nobody knows, and they have a brother with classical autism. Whenever I hear them talk about him to anybody they always mention "autism". Any conversation anyone has about their brother "autism" will come up. I met him and I'll admit he ma...

If you think about it any personality trait or cognitive ability carried far enough to an extreme is going to get diagnosed as a "mental disorder" or "neurological dysfunction". For dyspraxia the personality trait is "clumsy". For dysgraphia water down the definition far enough and the person just h...

There's only one thing I worry about with this that makes it hard to use this method, although I still use it well enough to help. If I decide that logically I want to be happy, so just feel happy because I want to feel happy I'll lose my motivation to do anything and just sit around doing nothing b...

Think about this logically: 1. If thinking about it more is not going to do you any good for your happiness in the short run or long run, you've already "learned" from it so it can't help you learn much more, and thinking about it isn't going to gain you any kind of material advantage(health, pleasu...

I'm not sure. I know I have bad social skills, but I feel like I had a very sheltered life in my childhood. My relationship with my dad was especially bad, including physical abuse. If I was just sheltered then given time my social skills will catch up, but that's what I'm afraid of. If its AS then ...
