I'd be open to working remotely, yes, and I have done so partially in the past if the job allows for it - especially if the time schedule is flexible. I used to use it medically - though I still smoke some recreationally from time to time. I have a damaged shoulder that has caused me a good deal of pain over the years, to the point of barely being able to use my arm. Since none of my doctors would prescribe me proper pain medication, I d...

Why do others tell me to attend a technical school instead of college? Today there is a huge lack of people in the work force that are educated in the trades. In this day and age, basically everybody in some way or form, is aiming for higher education. It's actually a problem in most industrialized...

I've taken quite a few of those tests - they either pointed towards research-oriented jobs, or "hands-on" types of jobs... A few of those: - Cook (though i'm a good cook, the pressure of a restaurant kitchen is too much for me...) - Doctor (Field of interest, sure - but wasn't keen on doin...

It's tough formatting the resume not to look like a brick wall while trying to include everything, I forgot at least one tip: Don't include everything , include what's relevant . This is easiest if you have a job ad as a template and experience in the field. You can use the job posting and experien...

wsmac really is on the right track of things - loads of companies have marketing departments that need promotional or training materials. Another option could be to offer your skills on a freelance basis - have a simple website set up as a portfolio (and movie promotion platform) and offer your skil...

"If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS." - W. C. Fields It really, really depends on the job. "Faking" can be easy in jobs where charisma is needed, for example salesmen or management positions. Here, soft skills are needed, and your results are on paper. ...

My first job as a tech supporter at an ISP had a very rigid scoring system that was basically rigged to get someone fired. The scoring included things like customer feedback and average time used per customer (what I call "stopwatch support" today). I was given my two weeks notice due to t...

as my original degree in business does not seem like a good degree for retiring rich. With a business degree, you have to know the right people to get rich... It's never a good path unless you have some way to supplement it with a proper trade skill. Don't discount the business degree just yet, tho...

So I'm going to move to that town, but someone reminded me there was a nature center very close by. I looked at their website, and not hiring but they accept volunteers... I tend to take job-seeking time as a good opportunity to reflect on the good results and surprises in my own career. Think about what you've offered in various projects and how you've handled requests. I can understand why you're confused with those "corporatese" terms... What i'm getting ...

first off, getting the anger out by punching anything is more likely to make it worse. The act releases endorphins (aka. reward hormones) in the brain, thus the person will want to get angry again. The best way is to focus the anger into something other than violence, eg. blowing baloons and letting...
