Yes, it's debilitating. I'm fighting through a wave of it right now. It's why I was just lurking through the forums here instead of doing the things I should be (get dressed for starters, I think I'll push myself to do that now).

Teething rings … they looked like pretzels and tasted like rubber.

Yes, I haven’t been active on this site in years but an interaction I had with a moderator on a special interest group on facebook that also claims they strive to be supportive and accepting of neurodiverse people (because the moderators there all are) was so toxic that I find myself back here. I’ve...

Yes, I get mad when people expect me to make money off of my hobbies. As though the joy they bring me weren’t reason enough to pursue them. If I do something well I’m frequently expected to just start a business and sell my creations. That would really suck the fun out of it and do harm to my mental...

Yes, it's quite impressive the way they manage to come up with all this diarrhea on youtube. I've only seen some glimpses of it when my sisters little daughter is hovering the channels. It's astonishing the amount of time they spend watching "shows" like 'the youtube family', kids unwrapp...

I have understood that creativity is one thing needed when trying to help an autistic child. We also need to use the TV/Ipad as tools to keep our boy busy so that we can breath for a few minutes during the day. I don't promote TV/iPad but it's been more of that stuff now that he's able to PECS it. ...

What kind of things have you done to help your son? Any specific thing you did that pushed him on a level? If I recall correctly you have autism as well? When my son started talking instead of the usual “Mom, Dad, cookie” it was a lot of letters and numbers, then colors and shapes ... so I tried to...

Hi, I dropped off because I did get too uncomfortable to share the problems we were/are dealing with. I think there were some issues with how the site was being run at the time (and may well still be) that rubbed me the wrong way too which didn’t help at all. I also developed a new “special interest...

I’m responsible for making Thanksgiving dinner this year and should be cleaning the house so of course I am instead counting my origami book collection. I have approximately 25 books. I was going to friend you on Flickr so you could see my origami but then realized I have 3 of my other crafting obse...

I do, hence my screen name. :) I haven’t folded much of anything in a while though (haven’t been active on this site for a long time either), but have been planning on making tree ornaments out of that same multisided star you have on your Flickr page for a few weeks now. I forget what it’s called b...

No, or if it affected me I was inactive through it and never knew. I think the time limit on how long you have to edit posts is unacceptable. I didn't consent to having my real age made public, I think that's a violation of my privacy. Not sure if they adjusted it a little bit but I wore sunglasses ...

Eh ... I've had a a lot of issues through the last few months that I wanted to discuss on here but am too uncomfortable to post much anymore on account of changes that were made to the site.

I don't think you're over reacting. All of that sounds like things I would have wrote about my son at that age (except instead of being scared of adults mine had/has no healthy fear of strangers) and he was diagnosed at 2 years old (he'll be 7 in a few months). I kept him on a harness for a couple y...

I didn't see Jono's post til after I posted ... walked away, did some chores, saw it when I came back and refreshed the page ... and now it's too late to edit or delete my post. Does anyone know if that's also a glitch that will be fixed or is that deliberate? I am so unhappy with how this site is c...

Likely another WP glitch: viewtopic.php?t=276338

My profile says I'm 45 too which conflicts with my actual age suddenly being publicly displayed here.
