My son has just recently been diagnosed (Aspergers) and tested with almost non existant fine motor skills, at 14 cannot tie his shoe laces. I have tried over the years with not much success at all, he gets frustrated and ties the laces in knots. If he tangles his wires on his laptop or game system, ... |

My son never watched children's shows on TV, he watch only a CNN type news show from age 1 and screamed if I tried to change the channel. He still does not watch much now aged 14 (Asperger's diagnosis) but likes some factual stuff like Bones, but not much else. |

I was the weirdo in school and well into my teenage year people called me "odd ball" to my face. I think people still have those views somewhat only now as an adult they don't say it to my face. And also it doesn't bother me like it use to as I wouldn't change who I am. |

I don't know I am still trying to understand it myself. In my experience of it, I caught my daughter 12 after she had slashed across the back of her hand with the blade side of a pair of scissors. She has many issues and part of what was going on for her at that moment was self loathing coupled with... |

Around age 4 or 5... I was sent for an assessment at just over 5 but it was the early sixties and so they didn't know what to make of me. We had no special classes so the teachers tried to keep me busy by sending me out of the classroom for any errand they could think of as they couldn't deal with m... |

Gosh, I just hate this kind of stuff. It's hard enough trying to make friends without all this. I was involved in an MLM years ago and it did not work out well. I was approached some years later by a really pushy person who wanted me to join her new MLM. My way out of it was to tell her that my past... |

I just found out tonight that I can start teaching computer robotics to children this fall. :) It's a new business venture I'm planning and I will hopefully have a group for ASD kids that will let them socialize and learn team skills. I get to use some of my old computer skills and gain some new one... |

I would feel okay to go out one weekend maybe a second one but after that I would feel overwhelmed. Not partying though maybe for a meal and depending on the people if they are really intense in their demeanor I would have a very hard time. I had a friend several years ago who was really intense and... |

I can agree with everything you have said, I find when I am stressed in the midst of conversation I end up only thinking of what my response is going to be and not actually listening for the majority of the time to the other person. I think I'm just so focused on trying to get a relevant answer out.... |

I used to drink a lot when I was married (23 years) and I though it was because I was just trying to fit in always having been labelled as a shy child myself. After we divorced 7 years ago, I was drinking much less and I started to think through why I felt I needed to drink. I took awhile to isolate... |
