I agree with that u tube clip.

I don't take any anti-depressants, used to but I was too sensitive to them. Also don't find myself to be depressant, so I don't see why I should try them again. I just suffer big time from anxiety.

I don't miss people at all. Though I do kind of miss not being able to talk to certain people when I feel like talking. Just miss the talking part, not that person. I watch NT's at work, they get so excited when someone comes back from holidays, I couldn't give two hoots. Just lightens the work load...

Only tried 5-HTP so far. I found you had to take it on a empty stomach for it to work, I eat to calm myself so I'm thinking maybe I need to take it first thing when I wake up and hope I don't pass out at work! I started googling about natural alternatives today after my GP was no help. Thanks for yo...

Seredyn - quick acting for anxiety Amoryn - non additive, long term anti depressant. Both are fine to take together, if you're really struggling as Amoryn works better the longer you take it. My GP can only off me Zoloft, or any other anti I pick! and I'm really against taking it. I want to stop the...

I'm a huge animal lover and they all seem to be attracted to me too. I talk to my dogs more than any human and have done so since I could talk. I currently have two big dogs and a cat, plus two dogs that my partner owns and I seem to have taken over care of them too. When I have room and space, I'd ...

Really appreciate the replies. I know my psych will be on my side for sure so I'll just get her to write a letter to the managers stating I need to be able to use ear phones. I don't mind being more of an outcast.

I did just google it but there are some many people here full of knowledge and different ways of explaining things so I felt the need to ask :) I know the difference as a child but more in the terms of an adult with AS and an adult with autism. And yeah I know it can change very differently between ...

It's all about making their mark and being seen to be in control. The policies of those deficient in genuine ideas. The worst kind of management edicts come without any consultation or understanding of the impact they may have, with an arrogance that what the peons may feel about it doesn't matter ...

My manager [one of them] knows a lot about my "issues' but for some reason she still expects me to be like everyone else. We weren't even given a week for the change, told Friday and change goes into action Monday 8O I think I'll get my psych to write a letter explaining why I need to have access to...

Don't think I do, defiantly don't feel maternal. If there is a baby around I won't go near it, I look from a distance. Kinda lucky as I don't think my partner wants another child. He has one with his ex.

Hearing kids scream/play makes me want to hide where I can't hear them.

And Aspies are the ones who lack empathy for other people's feelings..... Empathy is not resonating to others' feelings. That's sympathy . We have no lack of that. Empathy is being able to determine what others are thinking or feeling even if they don't say anything about it, by noticing subtle clu...

I work in a huge company, doing data entry basically. Surrounded by NTs who chatter to each other all the time. 99% of them ignore me and I ignore them, suits me fine. I've been there for three years and that entire time we've been allowed to wear earphones/ipod. Which is awesome for me as it allows...

Do you prefer to wear your hair the same 24/7?

I do, in a plait. I can wear it out sometimes but only for short periods.

Being told that we can't wear earphones/listen to music at work anymore.

This is my savior and helps me to get through the day, now what the hell am I meant to do? I'm freaking out about work next week now, being forced to listen to sounds that I can't stand.

Extreme shyness and general bad attitude as a kid/teen. Teen/young adult was still the shyness/[social] anxiety/depression, agoraphobia and panic disorder. My mum also told me last week that she suspected I was a little autistic as a kid but because, I guess, it was the 80's and 90's jack all was do...
