I know the feeling. It was called depersonalization in my case. It can drive me insane from time to time. I learned to ignore the feeling, but when I focus on it, I see it is there all the time. I think it started for me when I was around 16 (I am 42 now...). Hope you learn to deal with it. I tried ...

I understand what you mean I think. When I see other people interact I can imagine that I should do this, or say that, but when I actually need to do something it does not happen. Like I am locked at the moment I am involved and need to act for real. I can not come up with a good reaction and just j...

My high school years were very painful. I think I had about 1.5 good years, mostly the last years. Maybe it gets better when you get older I thought, but nowadays, it seems I was wrong. At least the last year was OK and quite relaxed with some good friends.

People have always said that i look "blank" too, but then when i smile they say i look creepy. Also, most of the time i won't make eye contact but then sometimes i'll stare at someone, usually if they have an interesting feature. is that an Asperger's thing? Same for me: blank expression, smile tha...

I have been diagnosed with social anxiety some years ago. I think there is no way to tell the difference between an NT or AS with social anxiety. I think for me the anxiety became worse and more obvious because of more painful experiences and growing awareness of my limitations. Sometimes I think be...

Stockholm syndrome is where the victim gets kidnapped and he or she falls in love with the kidnapper. A BS condition IMO because I think it's absurd to make it a condition. There is even a thing called Lima syndrome where the bad guy falls in love with someone who they took as their hostage. Also r...

For me my own world is more like the way that I see things, which can be different from others, and also a different way of behaving and reacting to my environment, which can be odd at times. But this is probably what other people would see about me being in my own world. For myself being in my own ...

Do you think is it right to be treated atrociously by some and being bullied because you were born different?Or is it wrong? Bullying is wrong and painful. But why start a topic on that? Do you expect to find a single person here with a opposite viewpoint? Don't get me wrong, it just seems like sta...

Magic numbers and OCD? For me, all good things have to come in two's, bad things should never come in two's. If a bad thing happens twice in a row, I have to force it to "happen" again. Otherwise it would bring bad things... OCD SUCKS!! !!

So if finding the cause won't help what will? Am I stuck like this forever? Surely there must be a way. Well, maybe in your case it can be the solution to find the original cause. But it may not be the case. So all you can do is try to find out for yourself. There are also some other options I gues...

Has anyone else experienced this? It's been ten years now that I've been numb and it's ruining my life. It started when I was in early high school and I was pretty happy at the time until, for some reason, I got very depressed. It was like it just came out of nowhere. And during that time it felt l...
