I don't know if the thread subject is true or not, but aspies are often good with systems of rules, and etiquette in the broad sense is just a system of rules to make social interactions work more smoothly. If you were taught to follow various rules of etiquette as a child (like holding doors for p...

Therefore, I can't consider myself chivalrous no matter how many doors I hold open or how many bags I carry. Besides, I do it regardless of the other person's gender, and, over the last years, I've found more and more often women doing it to me, too, especially young ones, and they usually look gen...

If somebody asks you where you just came from, you say "the bathroom," then add the following: "My poop was browner than I've seen in days. At least it rolled out faster than last night. They had one of those dual roll James River dispensers like they have in a lot of bathrooms along...

...For instance, I know my squared numbers up to at least 35, and my cubed numbers up to at least 15. But that isn't particularly impressive, is it? My brain started this sentence and screamed, "Oh God, no, please make it stop! Too much information... tooooo much!" Obviously, math isn't f...

...When I was younger it used to just be big projects that I'd hyper focus on, now it's just about any task. Mine gets really bad too, where a person can talk to me and I'm not even aware they're there... I've always hyper focused, but now I am more aware of it. I prefer that state of being because...

I guess because I have a hard time reading people by looking at their faces, I wouldn't even have a clue if individuals with Asperger have a "look". I honestly thought that was the rudest thing I've ever heard when I read it. Ever since I was in middle school, I always got the "Are yo...

I have met some who were and some who were not. I honestly think it is a blend of the social rules learned (you should do this, you shouldn't do that) and experiences. Those I have met who are extremely polite and go out of their way to be respectful of others tend to have been taught from an early ...

Things finally came to a crashing halt with this person today. He decided he was going to be "truthful" today. So he told me I am a hypochondriac, who probably does not even have Asperger's. He also said that he feels like I make everything about me (I try to show that I can relate, apparently that'...

I tend to be extremely selective about the kind of man I date, so I generally have a much stronger attraction to them than I would if I just dated anyone. I guess this tends to lead me to be able to fall in love quicker, but in general, it takes time for me to build trust and be ready to be emotiona...

I forgot to update on my soothing toys! I generally keep the two chenille pom poms in my purse and have had them out in a few meetings. Everyone always wants to know what they are, and I've even had a few people wanting them.
