I rarely speak out loud like everyone's describing, but I most definitely carry on conversations in my head. I'm not actually speaking to myself, it's always to other people who just don't happen to be right here at the moment. It just dawned on me a couple weeks ago that what I'm actually do...

I pronounce it OSS-burgers....just to minimize the otherwise inevitable snickering.

Why is this in General Autism Discussion?

It was the autismic reaction to the news that made me post it here.

Autismic Reaction....what a great name for a new band!

I do that almost every time to visit damnyouautocorrect.com. People post screencaps of unfortunate I-phone autocorrects when texting. I sometimes laugh so hard I can't breathe.

I'd spawn a small perpetual motion machine which produces power that could be harnessed to power all forms of transportation. With nobody needing fossil fuels anymore, we might actually have peace in the Middle-East, since nobody would fight over something as worthless as crude oil.

I have my own ideas on the various type of small talk. Essentially it's a form of sub-communication...and it's not pointless. Although I agree it IS annoying, it does serve a purpose. 1) Small talk with the person you just met - If they initate the conversation, this is essentially a way of 'sniffin...

When I was in the Army back in the mid-80s, I saved up my money to buy a car...a 1967 Mustang. I was so excited when I finally took possession of the car on a Friday, and then spent the entire weekend driving, playing with it, etc. When I got up Monday morning and was preparing for the day, I sudden...

I'm 46, my wife is 32....and every time my wife shows her co-workers a picture of us together and then tell them how old I am, she says their collective jaws drop and they say they'd have never guessed it, that we both look the same age. (Mother Nature has been a bit kinder to me in terms of physica...

I used to cry all the time up until I started going to high school, and then it just suddenly stopped. I can only distinctly remember crying four times since I graduated in the early '80s. 1988 - Twice on the same day, when my daughter was born. Once when I was told her mother was getting a C-sectio...

I do all my browsing using Firefox, and have the AdBlock Plus plug-in, which prevents all banner advertisements. I've only been here a few weeks, and wasn't even aware there were ads here. I had to turn the AdBlock off to even see what you were talking about.

So you're cleaning the garage and happen to see a spider on the workbench. You snap a picture of it: http://i1121.photobucket.com/albums/l503/john-mreman-smith/spider2.jpg Then you decide you use your cool new digital camera's macro-focus feature to get a really close-up shot of said spider: http://...

Sometimes when I write a really good post, explaining how I feel in a really good, descriptive way - and nobody reads it or replies, and it's really annoying, especially when it's a recent topic and there had been lots of posts recently and then all the posts suddenly stop and my post never gets re...
