This is like, I will promise myself that I will drink several glasses of water a day, but I have problems with following through, even with a reminder app on my phone or any other assistance. Do you not drink enough fluids and get dehydrated? If the answer is "no", I think you should just... |

Your friends aren't being good friends -- they're being selfish jerks. I'm glad you took care of yourself. |

My uni tutor said I will have to do oral presentations this year! I am not even allowed to write a verbatim script and just read it out, which I could sort of do as I find reading text out loud easier than producing speech de novo. Can you use AAC/text-to-speech? It doesn't seem reasonable to refus... |

I hate the aisles with cleaning products/soap (arranged into different groupings in different stores, includes detergent, general cleaners, shampoo/body soap/deodorant) -- they all reek, and I avoid them as much as possible. I prefer unscented soap, mostly. |

I see autism as a natural difference to be accepted and as a significant disability.
Whether it needs to be cured, or treated in any way, or just accomodated and otherwise left alone, is an individual thing. |

Thank you both very much! MjrMajorMajor: I can't clear anybody out or ask them to leave me alone but focusing on one thing is something I can work at. It is especially hard for me to stay focused on one thing right now (often hard normally) because I can literally see so much of what has to be done ... |

How do you get unstuck when you are in an emotionally terrible situation, have fairly severe executive dysfunction(ED) and emotional self-regulation issues (related partly to the ED and partly to trauma) are overwhelmed to the point of paralysis and expending most of your energy on not having a loud... |

With cutting someone off in line, I would apologize, try to say how I wasn't paying attention and give them back their spot -- I think giving them back their spot in line is probably the most important part. Beyond that there's really nothing you can do. If they remained enraged and were carrying on... |

Possibilities: > Violating social rules that you are unaware of. (People think you know the social rules and are violating them on purpose -- to be disrespectful or mean or because you don't care about other people's feelings.) > Not noticing nonverbal signs of what they feel, which results in not r... |

Several times today I have completed a captcha (or series of them) -- up to the point where the pop-up/captcha-task box disappears because you've done the captcha successfully, and then nothing happens. Literally nothing. The page doesn't redirect. I have to refresh it. (I should have made a note of... |

This likely won't apply to those with Aspergers, because aspies aren't truly asocial, however people directly on the spectrum are This statement doesn't make any sense to me, because: (1) Asperger's is considered to be on the autism spectrum.... (2) People with ASD's other than Asperger's (i.e. PDD... |

I have most just told friends and family. Some said they were not surprised, it made sense. One person seemed to think being autistic meant you were a genius. (I am not a genius.) Some were skeptical and questioned it....said things along the lines of "You're not that weird." Some said not... |

They are mostly the same, I think. Autism just has more variety in symptoms and in the severity of symptoms than Asperger's does. |

I think, even when he's talking about "fantasy things" he's probably actually trying to talk about real things.... Basically trying to use something that makes sense to him as a model for understanding the world and creating analogies (however obscure, however "that's a stretch")... |
