I have schizophrenia and I read the posts here every day. I also post here every once in a while. A lot of people who post here have some similar issues that I do so I consider it to be a good resource for myself even though it wasn’t made specifically for schizophrenics.

I don’t know if I’m just imagining it but it seems like if anything energy drinks make my social anxiety even worse than usual. They even make me jittery to the point where it is difficult for me to even sit still. If they work for you then good for you but they certainly don’t do any good for me.

I gave up on going to bars a long time ago. There is way too much noise, movement, smoke, and drunk people. That combination gives me major sensory overload in about 5 minutes. It has gotten to a point where I would much rather be lonely and by myself then to even go to a bar and try and talk to peo...

My psychiatrist said that he thinks that my schizophrenia is improving. Is this even possible? It was my understanding that there was no cure or chance for recovery in schizophrenia. Especially since I was only diagnosed two and a half years ago. Is it really possible that I could keep on getting be...

Psychologists call this symptom of schizophrenia alogia, or sometimes simply refer to it as “poverty of speech.” Basically, it means a person has extreme problems in initiating conversations, and even when they are asked quest...

I’m a 26 year old male and I still live with my parents and am living off of a small disability pension for schizophrenia and what was described as “possible autism.” My parents keep suggesting that I go out and socialize and try to make friends with people but I don’t ever feel like talking to peop...

I've noticed that this happens to me from time to time. It doesn't really bother me all that much, I'm just curious as to what the reason is. I already know that I don't make eye contact with strangers when I'm walking somewhere but I can't think of any weird behaviors that I do in public unless I'm...

I'm thinking about getting an online maters degree in history from American Public University because I don't want to drive to school and back every day. My question is can I get into a phd program later with a degree from this online school? I don't want to work my butt off and waste all of my mone...
