My constant problem is that I can never get myself to shut up when talking to people. Add to that my poorly self-taught sense of humor, and you have a recipe for a very annoying person.

Oddly, on the internet, I very rarely talk at all.

I was diagnosed a few months ago at age 25. As far as I can remember back, the signs were there, but not strongly enough that my mom pursued a diagnosis for me. Plus, she was a single mom raising 3 kids and my older brother was a nightmare, so my problems kinda got put on the back burner. In early 2...

I am still trying to figure out whether I'm more introverted or extroverted. I generally keep to myself, I have zero friends, and I'm fine with that. Conversely, if I am in a social situation, I am very outgoing and enjoy talking to people (often to the point of annoying them). I've also lived my wi...

Me too. Especially with words that contain hard C sounds, S sounds or hard T sounds. I love the feel of C and T in my mouth and the whistling sound of S.

It happens to me, too. When it does, it seems like I can see what I was about to say, but I can't translate it into words like normal. I'm an extremely visual thinker, btw. I doubt it has anything to do with seizures, though. I had a girlfriend for 5 years who had seizures of all types, and it doesn...

One thing I've noticed is that I'll find myself repeating points just in another phrasing, it even irritates myself when I notice this. Anyone else do this? Yes I second this. Thirded. Even when writing. fourthed? In writing, too, as well, also. Lol. It's as if either I think I'm soooo smart noone ...

I don't much care for fitting in completely, but I do wish I did a better job fitting in at work. My differences cause my and others' work quality to suffer, apparently.

In grade school, I had a neon orange folder so bright, you could see the fluorescent lights reflecting off of it and making my face orange as I stared at it.

O_O shiny......

ADHD and AS are not mutually exclusive. Attention problems are common to both. Some people have success with stimulants. There is nothing wrong with giving mucked up neurology a helping hand. There is also nothing wrong with letting your boss know if there is a better way to communicate with you. I...

I've never had a problem with taking tests, though. I've always been the guy who hands his test in first and breaks the curve for everyone else. It's the homework and especially the projects that always killed my grades in school. My awesome test scores were what kept my grades high enough to squeak...

Anything that involves listening and processing verbal instructions is very difficult. It feels like I am twisting my brain into a million knots. Yeah, I definitely have problems with verbal instructions. Which, of course, is my boss' favorite way to communicate with me. Just one more reason they'r...

First...you cannot rule out ADHD from an IQ test. Only 60% of ADHD people have an IQ discrepancy. The rest are fine. My friend has ADHD and is a genius according to his IQ test. However, I have ADHD and there was a discrepancy. This psychologist is not telling you something, because I find it shock...

I thought hyperfocus was just AS, not ADD. Anyway many of ADDs problems are common among aspies. I could have been confused on that point. If true, I suppose that does rule out ADD. I just really hope I can figure this out before my job performance suffers enough for them to justify firing me.

Lately I've been having a lot of trouble, especially at work, with my concentration, and I've been trying to figure out where it stems from so I can figure out how to improve my attention span. It seems that my "daydream breaks" often start when I consider the amount of work piled on my desk or when...

I'm personality B to a tee. Plus, I sometimes get some of the arrogance of the personality A, just to spice things up. I used to think I was an extremely outgoing, funny guy who ought to be popular. Somehow, I never managed to find all those friends I thought an outgoing guy should have. And I have ...

I get mistaken for gay fairly often. The way I figure it, it's due to my abnormal body language. People look for certain body language cues in others which are absent or modified in me. So they assume the next-closest option: gay. Personally, I stopped bothering to go out of my way to disprove their...
