This is so weird... Every once in a while, my mom will stop what she's doing and tell me to quit making a high-pitched squeal. She says it's coming from my mouth. I would know if I were doing it, because my vocal cords would be moving. In this case, I'm stone-cold silent. Maybe she's having auditory...

Dude, I did apologize, and I mentioned that returning the cake wasn't a possibility. The cake was my idea, but both I and my parents eat it when we have one. My stepdad will be the one to eat most of it, since he's a big eater. Good news-- on Thursday, my mom's getting proper chocolate cake mix and ...

The cake was disappointing.
It was too plain and sugary. Only a little kid would be able to appreciate it.
I wish I could throw it away. :(

My mom wouldn't have returned it, I'm afraid. I'm in the middle of baking it right now, to get it over with and out of my mind. I didn't go into a meltdown or anything like that. More like I was overflowing with frustration. "But I said-- but I wanted--" was the gist of my reaction, combined with wa...

But what does my mom get at the very last minute? Something you'd get for a kid: Halloween-themed white cake with matching white frosting. She also got cupcake liners. I freaked out. I finally resigned myself to the thought of white cake (hard for a chocolate lover to do), but put my foot down about...

Man, that was a tedious scoring process.
I've never been in an emergency before, so I was stumped on those questions.

Expressing sympathy is what's hard for me. If I must do it, it's an act, and one that I'm eager to get over with.
The extent of my natural friendliness is that I never lose my temper.

Who knows, maybe I do it because I am weak...

I dislike any collar that even makes contact with my neck. It feels tighter than it really is, and distracts me utterly.

That's not my point at all. I'd accept her sentiments if it also came with an attitude of taking my traits seriously as they are. By extension, she's giving off the impression that she doesn't take me seriously or even plans to understand me as I am.

I don't know whether she believes in the possibility of me having AS or not. Whenever I bring it up or have her read a list of symptoms, all she does is ask me if it says what I should do. All she seems to care about are the effects that my traits are having on my life, not the traits themselves. Sh...
