I have two boys. My older son is 4.5 and is diagnosed ASD. He has never cared what people think of us, so I'm not worried about embarrassing him. He is much like I was at his age...completely oblivious to his affect on others. My younger son is 2 and a NT like my husband. He is a total momma's boy r...

Awesome topics! They all pertain to my life these days. I am having trouble finding a doctor who is knowledgable in women with Asperger's. I live in SW Virginia. Is there a good resource out there to help me find the right person to talk to?

I REALLY like this song. Heard it for the first time in the car today with my son. We were listening to one of those kid's music stations on XM. Not a big fan of the Youtube video, but I wanted to share since the lyrics are so great. Just click on the name below. The Princess Who Saved Herself

I have always loved horses and still do. We have a small Welsh pony farm where I try to concentrate mostly on breeding. I used to start young ponies under saddle but eventually grew to dislike the attitudes of the buyers. I am just not into the show scene anymore.

BIRDS...mostly my amazing little Congo African Grey and entertaining free range flock of chickens and ducks, welsh ponies, dogs, autism and asperger's, natural birth and attachment parenting. Harry Potter and Wrong Planet round it all out. As a child I was determined to become a herpetologist and wo...

My pregnancy was fine. I felt good and did not have morning sickness. I took prenatal classes and practiced daily for over two months. I learned how to relax every muscle in my body during a contraction and not get uterine cramps during labor. My husband took a picture of me in transition during a ...

I just posted in the general discussion forum on this so you can see my post there as well. I found going GFCF to be extremely helpful for my digestion. Before the diet I went between chronic constipation and diarrhea and my doctors never figured it out. My celiac test was one of many that came back...

We are now approaching our one year anniversary of being GF/CF and I can't tell you how amazing it's been. My son was diagnosed this time last year with ASD and I decided to try it for him...and also my younger son and myself since I was still breastfeeding my youngest. At that time, I was completel...

My son has one, but I do not. I found his on Etsy.com and it is small...ideal for a 4 yr old like him, but not enough for an adult like me. We also have a weighted neck blanket that drapes across his shoulders for in the car. Because of their heaviness, shipping can be costly so if you are able to m...

I have sensory issues aplenty...but one of my most irritating (and probably weirdest) would be my inability to withstand any hair touching my face. This is easy to handle at home where I will usually just wear it up and clip any stray hairs away from my face. It becomes a problem when I have to go o...

I was medicated for anxiety and depression for a long, long time before being diagnosed with AS. None of the antidepressants -- including Wellbutrin -- did much, as I wasn't truly depressed in the need-medication sense (I don't think). When I decided to stop taking it, I cut my dosage in half for a...

I would like to be selectively deaf. When I am in the room with someone and they are eating, I want to tell them to stop. Especially if they are eating potato chips or soup. My poor husband...when he sees me cover my ears he tries to crunch "softly". Also at night. I will often wait and listen for p...
