So a dean at my school really told me that I could benefit from social coaching. I'm just wondering - how do I select the right social coach who I have personality fit with? What should I do to determine fit? I'm also wondering - what usually happens in social coaching? Is it possible if I could may...

So Tony Attwood said somewhere that he would recommend LA Noire to Aspies since it would help them learn facial expressions. I get 66% of the questions wrong because I can't recognize them, and the guides are written for neurotypicals. Does anyone else play this game, and if so, do they have any tip...

Does anyone else have this issue? Especially with perpetual feelings of DISCOMFORT in particular regions? And what types of treatment help for this? Does anyone know? The problem with this is that it's so subjective that numerous doctors are useless. (I'm still trying to find one who knows enough ab...

For me the biggest difference is intelligent NT's are able to accomplish more things in a shorter amount of time. They don't have the autistic inertia I do. They also aren't bothered as much by interruptions and don't need to shut out the rest of the world to work efficiently. I envy their ability ...

Do you look for people like that? Personally, I do, since they're the people who are MOST likely to tolerate me (and DEFINITELY the most likely to REALLY like me - because that's precisely what I'm skilled at) Thing is, though, that many of them are also intolerant in other ways (they're often peopl...

Or not? The thing is - they MUST deal with mental conditions, and often (at least) pretend to be sympathetic to them. They have to accommodate students with mental conditions - after all - it's required by law. Some of them even LIKE students with particular mental conditions But at the same time, t...

In other words... And how does it happen - viscerally? Is it analogous to someone who gets uncomfortable when you infringe on their personal space by getting close to them so quickly? Maybe it is, but I can't imagine that it could cause someone to intensely hate me (but yet, that DOES happen) People...

Why can infringing on someone's personal space cause someone to intensely hate you? I don't viscerally understand it. Honestly, I'd even feel flattered if someone invaded my personal space... Like, if someone sent me a facebook friend request. E.g. here's a good quote: She may have been being nice. ...

Lol nice. But isn't most drama - drama about neurotypicals? Has there ever been drama about a super-weird kid with both Asperger's and ADD?

Wow, so interesting, thanks! =) I don't know what I want to do, but right now, my goal is to try to get academic tenure in astrophysics, planetary science, or a biological science (the hours I put into this is legendary, and I'm not going to have a family to distract me). Once you're an undisputed e...

Oh interesting. Hm though, is it just your flakiness, or are you MUCH MORE than merely flaky?

I have issues with flakiness too, but people are going to have to put up with a lot more if they are to tolerate me. =/

Socially, I'm a horrible friend.

But if I do have one redeeming quality, it's that I do things in such weird and horrid ways that people do laugh.

See http://weluvsimfish.wetpaint.com/ for example (sadly, she left me a year ago - due to details too complicated to explain)

The arts? Really? What sorts of examples do you have of "weird people" in the arts? The arts are certainly countercultural, but you don't see slobs in the arts the way you see them in the physical sciences.

Are there places that are more tolerant of "weird people" than physical science departments in universities?
