This is actually the second account I have had on wrongplanet and in both instances, I have found that certain individuals are hostile to me for no legitimate reason whatsoever. I have come to the conclusion that this is not the place for me, and I am better off on my own. I mean no offense to the a...

So, if I want to hire a person who can program in C+, then I must be biased against cooking-school graduates, right? No, because one has control over whether they go to school for programming or cooking. One does not have control over personality traits. People DO, actually. Personality traits do n...

The workplace itself may not be getting more challenging for Aspies, but the job application process is. It's all about networking and who you know....

It sure seems to me that having Aspergers keeps you from being employed in a non-STEM field. The Aspies on the forum who brag about having a decent-paying job always work in STEM. Sorry, but that doesn't impress because those jobs are in such high demand that employers have to hire people with poor ...

I don't see a college degree doing anything in America. HOWEVER, and this is where I wish I had college under my belt, overseas. Overseas lots of jobs require a BA, teaching English for example, guaranteed salary of, say, ¥160000-200000 a month. Teaching English overseas is a hell of a lot better j...

So you don't want to get hired? Didn't say that either. When you have to resort to lying, you have lost the argument. I'm all for advice that could get me a better job. Based on your posts so far, you'll probably just say that I have to figure it all out myself. If that's really your opinion, then ...

So, here's what I take away from your last post: you want money, I'm not asking to be rich (at least not right away)...just to make a comfortable living. That brings me to my next point...most people don't have STEM degrees. Hell, most people don't have any degree. Most people are able to make a de...

I know it is not ideal. But if you want a job fast, go there. Many of us have had to do three or four years of contract work. I've tried placement agencies....they always insist they can help me and then never do. Getting more education is not necessarily a bad thing. My brother in law is getting h...

What's your degree, etc.? I assume it's some liberal arts thing or social science. Yes. I must be ret*d...I'm really sick of the STEM snobbery around here. STEM is not for everyone! And where are you located? I'm too lazy to hit the back button if it even shows. VA. Post your resume so we can take ...

Anyone else have this problem? I graduated from a Public Ivy with a high GPA and no student loan debt (had a scholarship), but have been unable to find gainful employment. My family is insistent that I have to go back to school if I'm to have any hope of getting a better job, but I just don't see it...

I think the bias might be more against introverts in general. There is no such bias if the requirements are types of skills and not types of people ; otherwise, the job description would have to say, "Introverts Need Not Apply" to be considered discriminatory. It is still a bias if certain types of...

I'm 50/50 I guess. I'm too low-functioning to get along with NTs, but too high-functioning to get along with Aspies. It really depends on each individual, I guess. I can talk to either type for a little while, but I can also get tired of either type.

Might I ask what were the circumstances in which you were diagnosed with NVLD? And what was the person's basis for diagnosing you with it? Because yeah, I've never heard of someone with NVLD being competent at math (I have NVLD and Aspergers, for the record, but I think the former describes me much ...
