Sorry. Well the good news is they did still interview me! It's a really long process though, now they want a working interview. And I hopefully didn't screw the one today up. It sucks that you can never actually tell if it went badly because the interviewers won't tell you or show it. But I'm stayi...

So just wondering how others are doing with their various VR endeavors. My update is that I have completed 3 of the 7 weeks of classroom stuff and am in phase 2 of my VR program. In the first two weeks of May I will have two work placements and hopefully one will work out. I am still enjoying the p...

I understand. I hated public facing jobs like that. Exhausting. Maybe something that would help would be starting in custodial work. It's hard for housekeeping services and companies to find reliable people turn up on time every day and who don't steal. The porter who empties the trash and wipes dow...

I suddenly got paranoid about whether these could actually exist, not just within a company but that a company could put a name on a list that could be accessed by the other companies in the same field and keep a person from getting hired by ANYONE in that field. So I googled it, and there was some...

Missdorkness I suggested that to the therapist working with the kid. And I was told no you have to and I said no. He's shutting down by you constantly pushing him. I feel like they should know this since it's a whole program for people on the spectrum. They know I am on the spectrum. And I tell the...

Clothes are clothes. All I care about is how much they cost. I dislike having to have two wardrobes, so, I primarily dress "business casual" 7 days a week. I think people who "as a matter of principle" rail against clothing standards are kinda silly. It's all cloth. Why does it m...

I hate the part where they ask you if YOU have any questions for THEM. I can never think of anything to ask. Ditto. I usually go with blathering for a bit "I DID initially wonder about your company's focus and environment, but, I did research on your recent work and discovered X and asked Y pe...

Get an ear canal earphone... earbud sucks. Ear canal earphone is not only a really good earplug (as in blocking sound) in itself, but the music will really block out ALL noise. Best of all because it's so small it's cheap. I have to admit I've never heard of that... I usually use clip on headphones...

All I have to suggest is... stop talking. I hate when I shut down and people keep pressing me and pressing me and I can't respond, so, they bombard me with more words and higher volumes. It makes me feeling harder and harder and more overwhelmed. My oldest son reacts the same. The only thing I do fo...

I agree with carthago. It seems at this point like your team leader is out to get you. The only thing you can do at this point is what carthago said, de-escalate matters. The team leader will eventually go away, but you need to let her think that she's "won" so she'll stop focusing on you...

Those who give advice in the work or school forums are busy and overwhelmed with crazy things like work and school. I identify with these feelings and thoughts, of course, I have experienced them all myself. I just try not to get stuck in a thinking of "is this how I want to spend my life"...

My husband has been annoyed a lot recently by rude neighbors, and is pushing to move further out away from the city. He works from home. I have to commute. I'm SO strained by the thought I'd wasting even more than the 2hours a day I have to spend in my car. He just acts like I'm being selfish when I...

Some people can smell out whom they can bully. Whether they're abusive or manipulative, they find people who are polite or passive or awkward enough to let them get out their aggression or superiority. It's a very weird instinct, but, I know it exists. I'm pretty lousy at standing up for myself, but...

Why might some people take pity on me if its very obvious to them i don't have a job and am cycling around all day doing nothing? They might think that you are poor, too uneducated/unqualified to get a job, or tired and suffering from cycling because you can't afford a car. Oh, good point. In Ameri...

I don't think it's true that people will feel sorry for you, because most people simply don't care except about themselves. I think your mom meant that comment either as some kind of misguided effort to convince you to find another job, or she's feeling worried that people will attribute your joble...
