LOL WTF?

One example might be men's perceived need to hide emotional issues and deal with them privately, which is likely a contributing factor to their higher risk of both drug/alcohol addiction and suicide.

I agree completely. Whenever I try to argue against the concept of male privilege, people's first reaction is to try to explain to me what privilege is. But I already understand and agree with the basic concept. I recognize my cis/hetero privilege, there are no disadvantages to belonging to those tw...

The prostitute in the article believes that her experience helps her to understand male sexuality when, at best, all she knows is what a small subset of men (those who visit prostitutes) are like. The percentage of people raped is shamefully high. And its easy to assume, based on that, that there mu...

I think the reason the Amish are put on a pedestal despite theflaws in their culture is simple; we're just not used to seeing religious people put their money where their mouth is. It's impressive to see a group of people who stick to a moral code even when it's inconvenient for them (which, for the...

I can't imagine anyone encouraging others to shoot up some smack or snort more coke (unless you're a banker maybe) Get to know the staff at pretty much any fine dining establishment, go out to the bars with them after work (they all go, almost every night) and they'll practically shove the coke up ...

Again, I'm sorry if I came across as too blunt or insensitive. But what MadeUnderground described happened almost exactly the same way to me as well. Only it was more than one guy. I'd had suspicions that she was cheating, but stuffed them down. I didn't want to be the jealous controlling boyfriend,...

That's lovely, mds_02. Thank you. I should probably mention the biggest thing that has helped us last this long, which is that we'd known each other for about ten years before we got together, since we were teenagers, and were already each others oldest and closest friend. So we knew exactly what w...

Yup, ignoring wouldn't be kind, much better to humour and guide if need be. I used to "chew my friends ear off", and he'd cut me short with a quip like: "How many coffees have you had Tom?" I wouldn't get it unless he smiled and said it in such a way that it was obvious he was teasing me, but I did...

Well all relationships are different, the same aspie can have different issues from one relationship to another, nevermind how different one aspie's issues can be from another's. So it's possible that nothing I say here will be applicable. But I've been with an awesome NT woman for going on 8 years ...

Her hanging out with another man is one thing. Her sharing a tent, and even a bed with him is another entirely. It's okay for you to not be okay with that. I don't know many people who would be. If I were in your position I would assume she is already cheating, end the relationship, and get to work ...

http://www.malesurvivor.org http://www.justdetention.org I'd just like to caution people about male survivor. I won't go into detail about it but I'd really reccomend that people read up on them, their policies and especially who they provide support for before dealing with them or (especially) usi...

So, did no one actually click the link I provided? Cause the studies it cites show pretty clearly that men are not actually that small a percentage of rape victims. Yeah, female victims outnumber them by a lot. But going by the numbers in those studies (this is a rough estimate of the average) men v...

For the most part, yes. But there are some people who go beyond "reporting an adverse event" to "never shutting up about an adverse event."

I apologize. It just seems like that's what men like to do but so do women. People don't like to give anything up. It's cool. It is a trend in people in general. And it may be easier to notice it in the other gender, cause it's probably easier for a person to relate to their own gender's complaints.
