I look for girls/women that are smart, humorous, friendly, pretty, healthly, and are not involved in very stupid things. I also like brunettes (not discriminating against blondes, redheads, and blacks). |

I definitely felt like that I was cursed from making and keeping friends before I was diagnosed w/ AS. I just had to be rejected or neglected everytime I ask someone out or just to hangout, and it was too much. When I seek friends, I target those who are very nice and sociable and they treat me that... |

When people make friends, what is it that they look for in a friend? Do they look for style/attire, personality, intelligence, manners, attractiveness or what? Many people around me have been respecting me as an nice, intelligent, handsome, young man. But still I could never socially connect to them... |

Meeting people has been easy for me in school and other places, but socially connecting to them is much more of a different story. It's also hard to seek the right people to become friends with because they could be involved in things that may not seem right to you (e.g. stealing, doing illegal drug... |

I think that socially interacting w/ others is essential especially if you're away from your family. It doesn't make sense for one to remain alone forever, and it's boring. You might miss out some things. We need friends for emotional support and to add a little enjoyment into our daily lives. If it... |

People never tell me I'm nice. I tend to say the wrong thing. My actions are usually nice. I've given most my money away to friends, family, coworkers and strangers (homeless, customers with no money). People tend to judge you more on your words and not your actions. I can not find the right words. A... |

I agree. That's why I've longed for friends all that time. |

From middle school to college today, I could never make and maintain close friendship w/ others. I have so many acquitances that I finely get along w/ in school but they never bothered to become close friends w/ me. Thus, I could never attach to them. My name is Tommy Corrielus, age 19, from Boston, MA and I have been diagnosed w/ AS last month. Since junior high school, I've had a major inability of building friendships and relationships w/ others and it was really painful. I once thought that friends were the people who like you. However, the a... |
