That's sad, Lydia, that people won't let you communicate in the way you feel most comfortable. I think that was a great video.

Wrightslaw.com is a great resource for learning anout special education law.
I would say having an IEP would benefit him very much.
It's harder to do when they get older, I wish you luck.

I was looking into neurofeedback the other day for myself. My understanding is biofeedback is different. NeuroFB involves ...well here's a good link to describe it http://www.maineneurotherapy.com/What_Is_Neurotherapy_.html I personally can't decide if it would be helpful or not. I once knew someone...

Sounds like a sensory issue to me. Not understanding where you are in space, not having a good sense of balance and movement, those are very common AS traits. I still bump into people accidentally far more than I would like, and that's even when I'm consciously trying not to. Sensory seeking is certa...

Its sounds like he is a very bright kid, and an issue like that, if it can be solved simply by using another bathroom, well then that should definitely be don...

Hoodie sweatshirts or headphones are a great idea. Also if you can find anyone in your area, I have heard great things about auditory integration therapy. It can help reduce sensitivity to noise.

Hi, this sounds very difficult. I think observing her in school is the best idea, certainly. I also want to note that most of the people who say their kids "practically live on " something end up being the ones whose children have food sensitivities the worst - it seems we are attracted to most what...

And I agree, 10 mg of lorazepam/ativan would have been a huge overdose. Although I looked it up. Here is an interesting discussion by nurses discussing a drs order to give 10 mg ativan to a patient (they didnt do it.) http://allnurses.com/nursing-issues-patient/ativan-10-mg-143998.html But according...

deber, please don't worry so much. I had the same worries. But I have been taking it - lorazepam - every day for years with no problems. Of course I dont think it affects me as strongly as others, no medication, whether it was a benzo (anti anxiety ) or SSRI ever affected me if I skipped a day. But ...

I find it impossible to split my attention 2 ways. I get very overwhelmed if this happens. I am so glad I haven't had to be in situations that require it too much. I can't even answer the phone when I'm doing something else, lol. My brain overloads. Oh well it's a common Aspie thing anyway, just som...
