Two pennies into the hat. Boston is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive for someone from the outside moving in. You can make Boston work with 4 room mates and cheap eating. The rents are just mind boggling. Average rent, in Boston proper, is a little under $4K for 800 Sq ft. Guess that isn't slumlord living, but...

People will hire a B level student, that plays well with everyone, than the A+ student that "causes" drama, and "can't play well with others". Unfortunately "plays well with others" can be a job requirement. I'm guessing lead test is below the manager. Whatever you did ...

Take this for whatever it's worth. Does you kid like the school? No real drama? School not calling? Teacher not burning down your email box? School is flat out hard for all kids at that age, unless you go to a total 3 hour play based only preschool (I'm in the US). My non autistic kid would come hom...

My husband is the one with ASD, and I'm so so glad we rent. Something breaks, I call the maintenance crew. My husband can not cope with the unexpected and dealing with people. Houses are all about s**t breaking and either you fixing it or calling around for quotes etc. People underestimate taxes, ut...

In my state, SSI is under $1000 dollars. There are means test for Medicaid and it's basically if you own a shopping cart you make too much money in my state. So you husband will get the bare minimum. Anything you own/save will count against any means tested benefits (like Medicaid) Only your husband...

Your cheapest bang for your buck is getting a disability attorney and work the depression/anxiety angle. In my area listing fibro is like listing back pain as a disability. Instant kiss of death UNLESS you have some monster well known doctor that does research in that field. There is no $150 note sa...

I use text, phone, email and meet in person for my job. I prefer the phone or in person. My usual situation is my boss texting me EMAIL. Then there is some rambling screed with borders on insulting, and I have to call for clarification. Which resolves nothing, so I have to meet in person. :x Good, c...

Use Zoom in your favor. I understand why they won't use email. It sounds like more than one person is having input over those posters. There is no way they are going to bounce input emails around to everyone, then have it get back to you. That could burn up days, and Zoom gets everyone there and det...

A friend has a grand son who was "normal/happy/talking/age appropriate", who is now at a big deal, nationally known hospital. The child would be placed in the level II/III autism leve now. He's in his own little world currently. Does not engage with anyone. He talks, but it's to whatever i...

People f**k up and do jail time. Especially poor people who have no money to get them out of trouble. I don't judge on that. Walter had autism, probably PTSD and other probable mental health issues. His health physically aways seemed bad. He had a real hard time seeing the big picture, and planning....

Oh Walter... All you ever wanted was college classes, computer time and to be treated with respect and dignity. I was hoping he wasn't suffering because of COVID-19 outbreaks. He hadn't PMed in a while. Glad he died in his sleep. At least it was in a bed, and another human noticed. Not in an abandon...

A thought... I live in an area where adult people with Autism are woefully underserved. But DFW is a huge area, with a decent size pediatric population. I might be worth calling places that work with teenagers on the spectrum. They age out at ages 18-21. Their service providers have to set them up s...

No.... Im discouraged because I spoke to someone over the phone about a remote bird teaching job and the lady literally said my voice was disjointed and I was too hard to understand... What does disjointed mean? Word salad (doubtful)? Rambling, tangential? It's hard to answer a question, so I might...
