I know someone who joined but did not stay primarily because they had a lot of language issues and they felt that this place was geared towards people who use 'big words' and fanciful language in general, and they felt intimidated by most of the posters. Personally, my activity on this forum fluctua...

I've met a few people who have ''a touch of AS'' but not enough to be diagnosed or even stood out from the norm in any way, whether it's mildly or moderately or severely or whichever the scale goes. I sometimes feel I have a ''touch of Dyslexia'', because I or anybody else wouldn't recommend a diag...

I always assumed it referred to BAP (broad autistic phenotype) people. So, like you said, people who have noticeable traits but aren't diagnosable.

Hello AnxietyHere. I'm 19 and recently received a diagnosis of autism. One might make the leap that I must be 'mild' then, but looking at my childhood development, I was most certainly not. I was communicatively delayed a lot (didn't speak at all until quite late, never used gestures to communicate)...

Too much hope. An autodidact getting an amazing job not related at all with his studies. It's possible? It was related to his skills. He was an electronic engineer, his new job was engineering microchips. Really? I remember that he was working in a astronomical observatory at the end of the movie s...

I read the plot and watched some snippets, I feel that Star Trek is less fiction than this one because no NT woman would fall in love with a much-severally aspie (almost full blown autistic), jobless, friendless odd man who cleans windows wearing a spacesuit. Then she left him after he found a good...

Forgive me if I've misunderstood, the GPA system is quite foreign to me (I'm a Brit), but that's roughly equivalent to a middle to high B, right? As far as I am concerned, a B is good. An A is of course very good. A C is satisfactory and a D is poor. Congratulations, you're better than satisfactory....

Well, I'm from England, both my parents were born here - although my father's parents were not. Neither of them have any qualifications. My father is functionally illiterate, has a lot of trouble connected with people in an emotional manner, including myself. He had a speech delay in childhood, his ...

This has been a big controversy. Still, a lot of self-advocates, seem to prefer just saying "autistic," including Autistic Hoya and ASAN. I would use "autistic" by default, but otherwise defer to one's preference. This. I think if the majority of the people with x condition think that it should be ...

I've had similar things said to me (I'm an asexual in a relationship with another asexual person). I disagree with your statement that it receives more discrimination than the LGBT population. I do not have things regularly shouted at me on the street because I'm asexual, but I do because I'm trans....

Ah, well. I'm reading Sociology at University now, and I did A level sociology and it's... well. They have very little in common. The ideas expressed to you are more complex, your understanding of it is supposed to me much more complex. Also, generally they don't really slow down for you, you're exp...

It really depends on the subject, and what you classify as repeating.

If by repeating you mean the same topics come up, yeah of course.

But generally speaking they're substantially a lot more in depth, and approached in a different way.
