My parents knew when i was a child, but i didn't hear about it until i was officially diagnosed at 15. At first it felt like a death sentence, it would have been really nice to do the research on my own before. I didn't fully understand what it was, i only knew that it was a form of autism and that ... |

Thanks everyone, i appreciate the feedback. I actually practiced again today, and its a lot easier than it felt the first few times. No anxiety attacks, thank god.
Obviously, the more i practice the more comfortable ill get, it just sucks that the traffic is so bad where i live. |

I have a very close friend who is completely obsessed with her 30yearold female teacher. Not only doe's she find this teacher extremely interesting, but she feels some sort of emotional and sexual connection. The teacher is married with a child and clearly feels nothing in return. Its gotten to the ... |

I always play music when I am driving. The rhythm helps me focus on driving instead of spacing out. I also sing along with the songs. That is my way of generating output to regulate the excessive sensory input. Spacing out and sensory overload are two problems of driving for autistic people. As for... |

I live in a very overpopulated area close to washington dc, i know that driving can become a painfully stressful task even for people who aren't on the spectrum. I apologize if this has already been asked. I didn't bother to read through all of the pages. Question, What motivates some NTs to pick on and harass aspies? If you see someone who has obvious difficulty communicating appropriately why would you give them a hard time, rather than trying to help them... |

My parents were VERY loving when i was a child, and i know a very low functioning autistic who's parents were almost smothering. I do see a link between the parent's careers and autism. However, I think its genetic and not the actual method the parents chose to raise their child I know kids with unl... |
