i wonder how many more years before somebody comes up with an intelligent animated realdoll? The Japanese are very, very close... [shudder] and then how many years after that, will it take for them to become affordable to everyman? i suspect it won't be within my lifetime. >>>>Actual link for Japan...

Back in the good old days of DOS, programming was simple: you write a set of instructions, it goes through them one by one, and if there is a problem during the run it will take you right to the line where the error occurred, and you could figure out what led to it. Granted I didn't really know how...

I find socialization much easier now. I can make small talk with random people almost automatically. It may be a bit awkward, but I don't stand there mute. I was never able to do that when I was young. By making small talk, I listen to what someone says and give a response based on that.

First of all, you sound stressed and I'm sorry. Stress is no good at all. Do you feel burdened by your husband and his apparent inability to take matters into his own hands? You should have a heart to heart with him about it, but only when you are calm and clear headed so that you don't cause him t...

If there really is a correlation between social and rational thinking, I think it would be wiser for me to keep my antisocial tendencies. I am fairly young and poor, therefore, it is best if I can grow professionally instead of ruining it all by trying to get rid of my loneliness (which will probab...

Also, people wanting to sleep with trans people to satisfy "bisexual" or curious thoughts is really quite offensive to a lot of trans people. If you're sleeping with a trans woman, you're sleeping with a woman. That's that. If you have sex with a trans-woman that still has a penis, did you have sex...

It depends on the walmart too. Not all walmart selections are the same. If you ask in rural areas if they have specialty items like that, they look at you like you have 5 eyes, because it really depends on how they distribute. I never said all were the same. Pretty much any Walmart has cheap and he...

a) If they live downtown, or in a bad part of town, they're less likely to have a proper grocery store but instead, one that stinks selection-wise and is full of expired crap. Granted, this is getting better with Michelle Obama's direction and people are realizing that there needs to be more when i...

The english part gets easier because it's done or you only have a tech writing class left. The math classes get harder as you progress. The contents of the computer classes will get harder because they build on the contents of earlier math and computer classes.

Isn't empathy strictly the recognition of how others are feeling? When did the definition change to recognizing those feelings and being affected by it? Empathy and sympathy seem to be almost the same in the above example.

I identify far more with the left than the right on the majority of issues, especially social ones. In fact I regard right-wing ideology as downright evil. It is essentially the ideology of domination. They may claim to oppose big government, but they only oppose the functions of government that ma...

I don't want to get dxed because of my job. Govt contracter. Believe it or not I could lose my job if I were dxed with something like AS. So, no thanks to an official diagnosis. If I ever find myself in a different job, I will pursue it then. There are many therapists who will provide a diagnosis -...

Oh, the old, "I regret my decision so I'm going to claim it was rape..." ploy. That's not a "ploy". Getting someone so drunk that they are blacked out or passed out and having sex with them is rape unless it was consented to pre drinking. Stuff like that is part of the reason I quit drinking...

The more I think about it, the baseline for each person is what varies and what is usually thought as "good genes". i think your right that that is what is believed by many people. i'd say that it's really not the case though and there is not a lot of science to support it. i'm also cautious about ...
