This really bugs me when we are meant to feel this way. I do not let this bother me anymore unless I feel I have wronged someone or hurt someone's feelings, or perhaps if I have said I was going to do something and then not (most likely because I have forgotten). Other than that I do not care if I h... |

User reviews tend to be more polarised but I feel their average represents gamers views as opposed to reviewers who are often paid for their scores (IGN & Official Xbox Mag, the latter I feel *has* to give ME3 a great score otherwise it would be bad for business as this is one of the year top se... |

Looks like it's another Dragon Age II: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/mass-effect-3 That's the PC user reviews but the console ones are also bad. I'm about an hour in and I'm already seeing major flaws, including the fact that so far the gameplay has comprised 50% of my time and cut-scenes and ca... |

However, you are right, I expressed it in a more... emotive way than I wanted. A bad combination of speaking in my second language and of trying to remain concise. By "morally defensible", I mean that I positively cannot think of a moral philosophy that would disagree that help should be provided, ... |

From consequentialist point of view, there is no fundamental difference between action or inaction. Inaction with knowledge is still a decision not to act, and making that decision makes one accountable for it, with or without will to harm. You are right, "Inaction with knowledge is still a decisio... |

From what I have read in this thread wr have been talking about helping 'that person on the street' not helping society as a whole but I concede your point. However we should NOT feel obligated to help anyone, ever. I agree that in order to live in this society we should pay taxes which in turn help... |

First of all thanks for the discussion, it has been an interesting read. @Astrogeek, you are letting your beliefs and moral convictions cloud the issue. I agree that if I saw someone in need I would help but ruveyn's point still remains valid. Inaction is not an action, by it's very definition it is... |

Urban Dictionary: Trolling Definition I sometimes use trolling to make a point to people who rage because they think it's all the rage to rage. Example: Last night on Battlefield Bad Company 2 (PC), me and a two other friends were playing on a hardcore server. I told my friend that I was only going... |

To answer the OP's question: I think government is designed from the ground up to keep us all in check whilst giving it's people the illusion that they are in control of it. Any 'rogues'/miscreants or malcontent that tries to usurp any part of it gets quelled. I think perhaps government wants to per... |

I never answer myself. I don't need to. The people in my head do. Figured that's what they were there for. :P Haha, well put. I too think things through an inordinate amount in my head, things that have, will and are happening. And it is like a conversation up there between me and myself. M... |

I like it when people smile innocently. If I feel there's malice behind the grin then it will bug me, if not then I like it when others smile, it usually means they are happy which can have a positive effect on me should I be feeling down. I like being surrounded by happy people for the most part, i... |
