This happens to me a lot... Sometimes I just have to apologize for being busy and just walk away... A friend and I (we are both NT) were having a conversation about a chap that doesn't shut up. I asked my friend how he got away from the over talker after they saw each other at the shops and he said... |

i also don't find it fair how NTs get to feel safe and comfortable but I'm stuck desiring something as little as small talk (which i cant do) anyone else? Not all NTs feel safe and comfortable. Lots of people have their own mind maladies that you can't see and won't know about unless you are told. ... |

Is this typical of aspies? No social circle and a Severe lack of social drive? I haven't "made a new friend" since before I was a teenager, and my ONE good friend and I have drifted totally apart. It's typical of people in general, with or without AS. To create a social circle you need to meet new ... |

I wasn't aware it was considered a stereotype. In my opinion, if a male doesn't have any female friends by choice, then he lives a very narrow-minded and isolated lifestyle. I'm straight and have more female friends than male. I'm not attracted to them sexually or secretly yearning for a relationshi... |

Also, do you think of your doctor as a friend? Or therapist or what have you? I know it is not a "go for coffee" type friendship, but I do feel like my doctor is a friend - a very good person. I know my doctor is very concerned for my welfare and I think that is something that a friend does. It's g... |

I am only generalizing here.... An NT can block out the crowds of people in busy public places, but at the same time can still spot people they know. An Autistic is sometimes known to be ''in a world of their own'' but still gets overanxious in crowded places full of people, and fails to block out ... |

People always feel intimidated because I point out their grammatical mistakes. I doubt anyone is intimidated when you point out their grammatical errors. I'd suggest they'd be annoyed if you kept pointing out their errors and your observations were unwelcome. I find I cannot even respect them any l... |

Are they just not interested? I can be told the truth. I just want to know why. The people seem to like me.
It could be that they are shy and/or a bit introverted. |

So even at the last appointment I went to when I talked to the psychologist, she commented that I did seem very intelligent but seemed rather uncomfortable about it...and its not the first time I've had people make that comment while seeming a bit intimidated it seems. Are you saying that she thoug... |

I got jealous over another guy, and I apologized and told her that I would change or do anything and it's not working. I wrote her a 5 page letter, and she said her feelings are still the same. I'm not sure what to do.. we've been friends for a year. I've never once cussed at her, or acted mean bes... |

So... Any idea what the NT was thinking when she shouted "You dare?"? How did she expect the Aspie to react upon hearing "You dare?"? I think she didn't take the threat of violence literally. and was shocked and didn't understand why she was slapped. Let me see if I can make sense of this: Aspie: S... |

Going to see a movie is cool. Friends do that all the time. You could be casual about it and just say "I'm going to see (insert film here), do you want to come see it?" |

People (which include NT and Autistic) have different hygiene habits. Some people shower and brush their teeth often, some don't and all for a variety of reasons. It's far too general to try and draw conclusion on what motivates (or doesn't) people to or not to keep clean and brush their teeth. |

1) So I thought maybe there would be a way to just keep it platonic. Is this possible? 2) As of next month she and I won't be working at the same place any more so if feel as if I don't ask her to hang out now I'll lose what could turn into a friendship since I won't see her anymore. I'm really try... |

The person that organised the event was a former classmate too, I admit we weren’t very close but still, I kept wondering why I wasn’t invited. What should I do about it? Should I be offended? Is the person who created the event on Facebook in your friends list? If they are not, then they would not... |

Those aren't actual Tumblr rules though? Just social conventions. I know. But it's as people make them out to be social norms. But back to my point: do use auties/Aspies get a bad rap? Blimey. I didn't know those "rules" about Tumblr. I have a Tumblr buddy at work and we often have a chinwag about ... |
