Picking up a fire extinguisher, acting as if one is going to throw that fire extinguisher at someone's head = giving them the right to defend themselves from having their head potentially crushed, or their car broken into so that the violent rioters could murder them with the chains, lead pipes and... |

Jewish culture is also incredibly stagnant, and in my experience very closed minded and judgemental. Effective at keeping the Jews alive? I'll grant you that, but it's also incredibly effective at making people hate you. Really? I think you don't get out enough. Visit a symposium on mathematics or ... |

It's very possible and it begins by the organization of society into two different groups in the first place. You organize the groups, call them the Bourgeoisie and Proletarian or the Professionals and Students. Separate them, empathy lessens then eventually the groups will develop their identities... |

Ok, now that you've linked the factual information, you make the argument as to why this is the fault of capitalism. The point which you've missed, is that without barely an exception the countries who are afflicted by these high poverty related death rates follow the blessed market economic model ... |

I see that and I raise you the 19 000 children that capitalism is starving to death every day, as we speak. Post proof of that claim please. Lets be clear, we aren't talking about Socialist Cuba, Venezuela, Laos, China, or even North Korea here. No no, we are talking about places where the verminou... |

The shift from capitalism to socialism looks like an unprecedented leap of faith in humanity if you only look at that part. What about the change from primitive communism to slave society? Did Marxes faith in humanity have a decline when he made slave society a step in historical materialism? I agr... |

It's the opposite, math depends upon existence, it's a system created by human beings to describe and offer proof of existence. Of course, it would highly depend upon whether or not you are referring to "math" as in the system humans created, or math in terms of the systems that conform to mathemati... |

Back in the 1850's the Republicans replaced the Whigs. It is time to replace the Republicans. The downfall of the Republican party is that it became the party of Evangelical Christians. American politics must be religion neutral or the Liberals will simply take over and eat the rest of us alive. Th... |

Are you sure that's what Marx said or is that how you're interpreting historical materialism? I think expecting a shift in society because of the change in the means of production makes good sense. There isn't any faith about humanity in it. To expect a shift in society because of changes to the me... |

Why would one believe such a murderous ideology? Its not really a murderous ideology in itself. Its really good on paper, but when you get into handing all economic and political power over to one centralized entity, there's really no reason to believe that it'll truly represent the will of the peo... |

So in your world it's cool for a guy to indicate that he's going to throw a fire extinguisher at your head, but not cool to prevent him from possibly killing you. Note that the as*hole was in the middle of a morally superior mob using violence, wielding chains and crowbars etc. Come at any sensible... |

Capitalism is based on greed which breeds cronyism. If you don't want cronyism then why be a capitalist? It's like the concept of the noble savage. The alternatives are worse, communism/socialism tends to breed the same cronyism, without the same efficiency (both time and resource-wise), tending to... |

I think we need more "fascists" like FDR and Ike because they at least understood the value of investing in the future. Once our entire GDP consists of extracting profit through Wall Street paper pushing games and cheap overseas labor we are officially finished as a nation. It may already be too la... |

I honestly can't understand why people went from carrying a weapon at all times and learning to protect themselves to relying on a small group of thinly spread, moderately trained, often abusive p... |

It's called a false dichotomy, but in this case it can be argued that robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing are all laws a potential offender would be less likely to ignore than firearms laws. In some countries simple possession of a firearm is a more serious offense than robbery. In s... |
