I do, though somewhat 'episodically.' From both my scalp and my face/beard. Used to to be my scalp when I was younger and wore longer hair and was without facial hair. Now I wear my hair shorter with a beard, so the beard is getting all of my attention. So, for me, hair length seems to play a part. ... |

I can think of positive and negative physical consequences to my interests. Along the same lines as Kurgan, I've recently grown fond of daily walks (a semi-formal attempt on my part to cultivate 'good' and 'positive' obsessions/compulsions). I'm starting to get comments from co-workers taking note o... |

I don't have kids, so perhaps I'm not the best person to answer. However, if I did have children I wouldn't let them anywhere near that jerk. I'd certainly give his superiors an earful... Sounds like a wannabe cop (or drill instructor, security guard, etc.) to me, not a teacher of children and other... |

The best & most helpful thing I can say, I think, is to forgive them. To pity them--your sister, that dude, and anyone else who sees fit to judge you. And not some 'holier-than-thou' pity that's really judgement/condemnation in disguise, but real pity (which requires empathy). Your sister, based... |

I will try to ring the samartians I hope you called them... I really, really do. You don't need to suffer alone. Might sound like bullsh*t, but it's true. Doesn't mean that I won't be annoyed as hell the next time I'm struggling and someone says something like that to me. I'm sure I'll roll my eyes... |

Currently, however, I've been poking my head out of my shell a bit. It's terrifying, but constructive. Have you always felt this way? I have had periods where I am totally carefree, this is why I questioned my diagnosis. But really I prefer to be alone but observing. Not when I was younger--before ... |

Oh, if I could dance. :) I don't let it stop me. Truth be hold, I've been accused of being a good dancer numerous times over the years. I don't often do it in front of people or in groups, unless I'm a little "loose." Thanks for this interesting post, Ojani. It would seem that many can relate. |

I think the same applies to me. I have much less capacity for memorizing, especially books and poems, but parts of songs and melodies are almost constantly looping in my mind. Kinda like we are our own private DJ's. I'll even catch myself dancing (briefly) on occasion, only to feel immediately awkw... |

When I give golf lessons, the first 5 mins are tough but then I relax and people actually enjoy it. Otherwise i avoid social contact as much as I can. I definitely relate. People are stunned when/if I share with them that I have social anxiety. They think I'm very 'good' as socializing, public spea... |

Very much so, although mostly with music. It sounds to me like your recall exceeds mine. <Jealous>
I'm also constantly peppering my speech with extended quotes from my favorite films and TV shows. Some appreciate it very much, some... not so much.

+1 on taking a walk or something fairly aerobic for 30+ minutes. Also... Make a list; write it down... I find this helps me organize my thoughts and put some structure to them. It can also help limit the scope of my thoughts. I also find that, sometimes, I 'forget' to breath when I'm really getting ... |
