I can honestly say I had more optimism before realizing my brain chemistry. The limitations that come from me knowing i have autism have, in a strange way, brought some relief. While others may continue to lie to be about what I might be capable of if only I did *fill in the blank with whatever is s...

I was reading up on a proposed British diagnosis several years back that was a label for those who possess the elements of both Narcissistic Personality disorder and Autism. It's label contained the phrase "non-confrontational" which appeared to be a misnomer. I recall from the list of tra...

It's just a way of letting other people know they're available. It only bothers me when the person is lying about their broken-up status to play some mindgame with their partner. I'm not a fan of Jr High school games. My biggest Facebook annoyance is being un-friended for seemingly no reason, especi...

The sound of other people chewing.
The sound of people kissing on TV shows and movies.
Getting cut in front of or skipped over when I'm next in line at a store.
Bitchy/authoritive tones from others.
Getting blamed for something I have not done wrong.

If the side effects aren't severe, I would take a pill that makes me more socially acceptable. If that means a total elimination of my autistic traits, so be it. The hatred I have received from the human race has permanently damaged me and I'd love to be someone quite different than what I am.

Anton Bruckner, a 19th Century Austrian composer of religious works and symphonies. He was picked on growing up, was described as "sensitive" and "unwilling and unable to learn social graces" after some of his friends attempted to help him with his social deficits. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuR...

I've always sounded different from others. I had a friend in college comment on my "pseudo-British" accent. Had someone tell me once I sounded like a "rich boy". The local accent never appealed to me, but I've become better at imitating it.

It's curious how important an official diagnosis is to people (myself included) even when we already knew and get no extra benefits from it.

Anyway, congratulations.

For me, getting an official diagnosis would simply verify what I believe I am, and give reasons to my eccentric behaviours.

I get these weird bursts of positive energy, perhaps a joyful overstimulation, where I let out an "EEEEE!" and flap my hands. Like Sanctus, it is done in private.

You are saying he doesnt have typical american characteristics.

Didn't say or suggest that at all. I pointed out that he pronounces some of his "r"'s as "w"s. That is not a characteristic trait of properly spoken English in either Britain or America.

He looks pretty normal to me..what symptoms do you see? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fjBENKFVYM When he walked in initially, I noticed he didn't swing his arms in a fluidic, "neurotypical" manner. His "r"s sometimes are pronounced in a peculiar manner; when he pronouced "brain" it sounded more l...
