the only news i like to follow is daily weather through a phone app.

nothing like: "OMG! storm kills people!"

i just want to know the temperature and precipitation for my area so i know how to prepare for my daily walks, or if i can even go out.

maybe the problem is too much sexual secrecy. i think it is also a religious thing.

religion still has a good stranglehold on this world and a lot of "major" ones forbid condoms as well as discussing sexual matters.

that could lead to young people not learning about the dangers.

news stations are a business like any other: they want more customers.

combine that with how negative emotion causes a bigger response. if they keep finding storys that are "tragic", more people will read and buy their stuff.

ironically, males are allowed to post in the woman's discussion. it has been requested several times to lock that forum to just females, but it has never been done. (i know there are some particular male users that are constantly causing trouble in there.) perhaps there shouldn't be any gender focus...
