To be honest if I judged tens of millions of people based off a small sampling consisting of my parents, I'd probably hate conservatives too. every rightie i've met, looked down on me for seeming to be "beneath them." Funny, I'm poor and have never had that problem. I am uninsured so far as health ...

I am very much in control of my own life, and want to stay that way. Life has taught me that there are very few people you can count on in life and your only option is to count on yourself for everything and be pleasantly surprised when someone helps you.

No-one read the interesting and detailed PDF I linked on page 1? Oh well... *wanders off* Just finished it, actually. There was no mention of developmental disabilities in it, but it does make a compelling case for a number of other disorders. The only possible autistic traits I saw mentioned in it...

I would also add that it is immoral to force citizens of a state to purchase a product or service from a private company under threat of imprisonment. . Is it more moral to allow others to die because of your refusal against state legislation? This is why America needs a National Health Service. In...

I've never watched it, so I can't really say. I have heard that it is designed to cross age boundaries in how it appeals to it's audience, much like "The Powerpuff Girls", "Pinky and the Brain" and "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle" did in the past.

@outofplace That is exactly it! The people who wrote that law make the assumption that everything is static and every party whose interests are affected by their laws will not react. How many juries do you think will convict a person simply for being too poor to buy health insurance? IRS resources ...

I always like telling the religious right that in the bible everyone was covered under socialized medicine. Chapter and verse please? Sorry, but I have been a Christian for over thirty years and have never seen anywhere in Scripture that states the government should pay for people's health care. Je...

lefties and righties each have mutually irreconcilable philosophies- " east is east, west is west, and never the twain shall meet ." it is best to avoid those on the opposite side, one might as well [try to] mix oil and water together. each side wants to force a square peg into a round hole. I thin...

A tricky one for people with AS - not really people worth arguing with IMO. But dealing with people who have that "conservative" mentality, you know the one, they stake the claim that everyone makes their own destiny and brings everything upon themselves (and btw, they also tend to believe Asperger...

I am a conservative and would appreciate not being stereotyped like that. I do believe that the individual is responsible for their own life, but I also recognize the issues some people have due to a variety of problems. My lack of social acceptance has made me a fairly open minded person when it co...

Against all. The only caveat I have with abortion is if the mother is going to die in that moment. In that case, you get a negation where no matter what a life will be lost and so there is no clear moral imperative that would preserve life. In all other cases it is not permissible because the value ...
